Awesome!!! Man it has made my life easier with this. At first I was worried the magnets were not going to be strong enough but worked a lot better than I thought.

This is PERFECT for small hobbyist soldering and board work. The hands attach strongly to the metal, and the metal has weight! It is a little confusing on when you are supposed to use the measuring board vs the orange metal, since both can't fit in at the same time, but you can attach the measuring board between the hands and metal (the measuring board sticks up though, which irks me). The base mat is flexible, sticks well to flat surfaces, and is easy to clean up.The helping hands stay in place very well, and are easily manipulated. My only wish is for someone to invent a better way than a screw to hold them in, since sometimes they do fall out unless you crank down and pinch the hand. The screw is larger and better than those on traditional helping hands though. You should take note of the size; this is great for boards 6" in length or less. Anything more will be difficult to hold. This is currently listed on sale for $37.46. That's about as much as I think this is worth. Its list price of $50 is too high in my opinion.

Good hands they work. I would recommend purchasing this helping hands board set. Con: The magnetic work area for holding the helping hands is small for large motherboards. Pro: It still can manage large boards but a little manipulation.

I really like this set. I only have a small space to work on projects so the compact size of this is perfect. The metal base is SOLID and the magnetic helping hands attach solidly and can be moved around as needed. Not a whole lot else to say,.. what you see is what you get.

I like this! I've tried other solutions for holding wires to circuit boards in the past, and they've been limited in both angle and spacing, but this design lets me position things anyway I like in the space in front of me. Though I would have rather have 4 to 6 arms of the same length, rather than 2 short, 2 medium, and 2 long. The two shortest arms also have weak magnets compared to the others, making them not very useful for my applications.Everything in this kit (except the ruler) is heavy. That's actually a good thing, since it means your project won't be slipping around the table as you work on it. It's also bigger than it looks in pictures, but again, that's okay.My biggest complaint that for the price, this really should have come with a storage / carrying case of some sort. It's an awkward piece of gear to store, because it's not just one unit, but rather it's a very flexible silicone base, a heavy metal plate, a rubberized mat, ruler, and six arms, all wanting to "do their own thing" if you know what I mean, especially when magnets are involved. So storage and retrieval is a bit of a challenge without a dedicated case / bag.

I had a friend that once said "a technician needs a third arm, coming right out of the middle of his chest"- and all my tech life (60+ years) I've found that to be so true. Wires don't want to stay where you need them to. Small parts need to be supported while you also need to hold the screwdriver, keep the screw in place, try not to drop the nut, often in contorted, unnatural positions.. suffice it to say a helping hand is great. Over the years I've tried probably two dozen different arrangements: vices, board clamps, miscellaneous objects trying to support the work, twisty wire-supported alligator clips- all have one thing in common- they are clumsy, and too often too unstable to work smoothly and effectively. This set is WAY different. The heavy steel base supports the flexible tubes, which are supported by hella-strong magnets. This all sits atop a heat-proof silicone pad. Really nice. The tubes (arms? posts?) have a socket-and-set screw that accepts the included padded, grippy, alligator clips; allowing 360 degree adjustment of the gripper. I like the socket- if I make a custom support or clamp It is easy to substitute for the supplied clips.Since the tubes are on magnetic bases their arrangement is infinitely adjustable. Also included: two tiny supports with small padded clips, for tiny simple close work. The silicone pad could be bigger, but no biggie- it has he usual molded-in cups to capture and store tiny parts while you work. This kit includes a surprise- a cutting mat with a measured grid, rulers and angle lines all printed on, as well as an 8"/25 cm graduated stainless steel ruler..BONUS! I'm always looking for a convenient metric ruler since I think in imperial...(Oh, I KNOW 13 mm=1/2", etc, but...). Great kit, costs much less than the leading electronics vises (where you need a vice, base, many attachments= $$$) which are much less flexible, adaptable. Would be handy for jewellers, crafts, assembly- any close, hard-to-manage work. Highly recommended.

I use this for the 3D puzzles and it is such a game changer. Having the “third hand” helps me make certain steps more precise. I really like being able to move different arms on and off the board. I also like the varying sizes as well. They don’t get in the way when one is shorter than the others. Really like this!
