I just bought a house built in the 1950's and it will need a. lot of renovations. Instead of taking the risk with "hot" wires, I decided to buy this to save my brain from being fried. Works great. Love that it comes with batteries and has the light on it.

Is it cheap poorly made liberal tester that inactively reads. I'm a master electrician I wouldn't recommend anyone to order this. I returned it they claimed they never received it but UPS shows they did.

It came with batteries and ready to use out of the box. It's comparable to any other one of these that you might pickup at the hardware store. I tested it on wall sockets, chargers, and used it when I was replatmy ceiling fan. Worked perfectly fine!
