The end you hold is weak where the toothpick cuts are. Had a few break off under the weight of a cocktail sausage.

It's the little things...that drive me to write reviews, good or bad. In this case, I'm fumed! Specifically I searched "Toothpicks...Made in USA" and found these Norpro 'picks with the proud Northwest verbiage. That, combined with the 5 star reviews forced my decision to pay too much for a 3 pack of toothpicks. To get to the point pardon the pun, upon opening one of the little plastic canisters, I smelled a "chemical" smell. Overcoming my instinct to NOT do it, I popped one in my mouth. Well, I tasted a sharp, bitter taste that was so nasty and unpleasant I brushed my teeth to get the taste out of my mouth. At that point, I returned to the toothpick container and read, "Made in CHINA for Norpro, Everett, Washington".It's a sad state of affairs that even the manufacture of TOOTHPICKS has been shipped offshore. These are going back to Amazon. I'm INCENSED that I've been duped again by funky advertising that hides the true source of products I'm lead to believe are made in AMERICA. I would have accepted these off-shore duds but for the nasty smell and taste that leaves me to believe they are manufactured with either treated wood, machinery that is "bleeding" chemicals or sprayed with some funky crap to keep the rats from using them in transit back to the old USofA.BAD SHOW NORPRO!

Smoother and stronger than the cheap ones. I chew on them so the grain direction and not having slivers matters to me.

These are toothpicks, so I shouldn't have expected much. But they have the little carvings in them that make them seem "special." I used them to make cinnamon toothpicks, which should be special on their own, but for just a few more cents per 100, these look "fancy." I think it was worth the fractionally greater cost than the plain, ol' dull type of toothpick. No one thinks about toothpicks for even a second, but if just one more person out of 100 does notice, wouldn't it seem worth the penny?

I don't floss, but I do use a toothpick, especially after the evening meal. This is a quality product, sturdy, does not break during use, has a nice knurled end to grasp the pick. My best comment is that I just reordered 3 more packages...........RonS

Use primarily for dental care and these are a quality product with just the right thickness. Others I've tried are too thin.
