Responds quickly. About thirty seconds to get a stable reading. Washes up easily, silicone makes it less likely to burn your hand.

Excellent for the "short-order cook" and "the banquet-style cook". The silicone grip is the main reason I got one, actually got 3 as I multi-task a lot! Able to stick in food and walk away and remove without getting burnt with ease. Hence why the grip makes life so much easier. I wouldn't recommend one leave it in the food while cooking ever, but they allow for a little extra time that keeps the food moving quickly and coming out perfect. Also chose the red color because of co-workers use the blue Sysco thermometers I am able to keep mine, and the other workers are jealous. Temperature reads fairly quickly, faster than Sysco blue ones for sure. The holder won't let the thermometer fall out like Sysco's either. I wear a chef coat and the Sysco jumps out all the time, but this Nopro is always there when I need it! I find digitals read a little faster won't take abuse, this thermometer is also adjustable, but you do need the wrench to do it. Hope this aids your decision. Recommend for anyone that loves to cook to perfection!

Inexpensive and accurate after a bit of adjusting. Works quickly and has a handy storage sleeve. The bright red color makes it easy to find in your utensil drawer. My homemade bread is turning out much better now that the temperature of my liquid ingredients is what it is suppose to be.

Simply did not work. I even made a special trip to buy a new battery, still didn't work. I had purchased this item previously for a different household and it worked great.

Accurate, seems well made, but responds very slowly to complete its temperature read. Dial is also quite small for my middle aged eyes.
