This is one of those special tools that you didn't know existed but immediately realize why you need it for the next time you run into the situation it is for. And pulling off ferrules for fitting replacements is exactly what this tool does pretty well. I found it worked pretty well for the smaller size where the inner "pusher" can work against the end of the pipe. The larger adapter would let it screw onto the larger fittings (that I don't happen to have, so no actual testing) but the smaller pusher would just slip into the larger pipe end. So for use on the larger size fittings, you will just need to pull on the ferrule manually, using care to keep it straight and not pull too hard on piping. The one drawback on this tool is that it has to screw the old nut onto the tool to pull on the ferrule. So if the old nut is broken or stripped, it's not gonna work. A set of fingers, like on a gear puller, to directly pull on the ferrule would fix that.

Very cheap, poor quality. First use snapped the threads. I had to cut the old ferrule off the pipe. Save your money or buy a better quality product.
