America tends to rely on a "just in time" approach, going to the store at the last minute. This can be problematic during emergencies or shortages. Food may not be available or it might not be possible to get to the store.I recently bought these bananas anticipating a possible Dock Workers Strike in 2024.When money was tight this month, before payday, they came in handy. This is my third purchase. The bananas taste good straight from the can. I recommend soaking them in water for 10-30 minutes to soften them. Only lemon juice/citric acid is added to prevent discoloration, so they should be as nutritious as fresh bananas.Unlike other brands that add sugar and flavoring (they makes them taste really good, but not natural)Hey, with a few decade shelf-life, they are a good deal. 10 years from now, with inflation as it is, these might be considered inexpensive in 2035 or 2045!Recommend these highly.

Great deal on FREEZE DRIED bananas. They are sweet and crispy. Haven’t rehydrated to use yet but our family (and pet rabbits) have enjoyed them straight from the can. Will be packing these into smaller portions and sealing them in mason jars to maximize freshness. I can see as with other purchaser’s complaints where the these might go stale after a week or so opened in the original tin can with the plastic seal lid.

These freeze-dried bananas have completely shattered my expectations of what a snack can be. I thought I knew bananas—soft, sweet, mushy—nothing special. But then these little crispy wonders came into my life, and let me tell you, they’ve changed the entire fruit game. They're like little banana chips that have been through some kind of high-tech space mission. They’re crunchy, they’re sweet, and they somehow taste more banana-y than a regular banana. It’s like the banana gods themselves came down and said, “This is how it’s done.”The best part? They don’t get all weird and mushy when you open the bag. No more soggy fruit disappointment. Just pure, freeze-dried joy in every bite. And they’re so light, I could eat an entire bag while pretending I’m being health-conscious.Five stars. These bananas are so good, I’m considering using them in everything—smoothies, cereal, or just snacking straight from the bag like the wild person I’ve become. If you haven’t tried these, do it now. Your taste buds will thank you.

Love the product. Would appreciate a pull tab. Took me 10 minutes and much muscle to open with kitchen aid can opener.

I purchased these thinking it could be an alternative to the freeze dried fruit medley packs I have been spending waaaay too much money on. The goal was to mix these with the freeze dried strawberry's and have a large quantity of strawberry/banana freeze dried fruit mix that I could snack on. There were a few issues: 1) the taste was mediocre at best 2) the consistency was that of dehydrated fruit; which I hate because they have a harder bite and absorb any and all moisture from your mouth 3) it was incredibly hard to open the containers. I used a normal can opener and ended up grabbing a towel and taking breaks because it was so difficult to cut through the top of the container 4) there was no way to truly reseal the container; they had a plastic top that went back on but that would allow the fruit to go stale in less than a weekIt was a good try on my part, but a failed one. They also don't take returns at all, so be 10000% sure if you are going to purchase this.

Unfortunately, green bananas (not ripe) were used. They leave a bitter taste in the mouth - which is pretty disappointing given the cost.Everything else is okay…but that bitter, slightly gritty taste that just lingers is disgusting.

Very good amount received for the cost you pay. We can definitely taste the citric acid and ascorbic acid, as it leaves a distinct after taste. I wish it was just bananas without those acids, but they probably help with shelf life. Trader Joe’s freeze dried bananas are just bananas, which we personally find better tasting, but overall these aren’t too bad.Update: at first I gave 3 stars, but I now upped it to 4 because you get used to the acidic flavors and they are a pretty tasty snack
