They are as pictured. Wide and sturdy. Hold legal size folders with plenty of room to spare. Used screws to secure.

The picture clearly shows brackets of this file hanging, but it only comes with screws to put it into a wall. I was very dissappointed when I had to order the brackets that were $12 a piece. If I knew that, I would have ordered a better looking file for around the same price that came with the brackets to cubicle hang.
