The trays are made magnetic by fairly big magnets on the bottom. Personally I'd have preferred smaller magnets but thats just for optics! That said.. nothing ferrous is coming out of these trays without you taking it out. Sturdy, strong and cheap. What more could you ask for?Recommended.

After some research, I found these magnetic dishes to be the best deal, but I initially worried about their durability. Thankfully, I was wrong! These are incredibly sturdy, and the magnets are really strong. Unlike the ones I had before, which started to separate from the magnets, these have held up exceptionally well over time. I didn't think I would need so many, but I'm glad I got them. Now, I can keep my nuts and bolts perfectly organized without mixing them up. They do scratch, but given their purpose, that's a minor issue. Good product!

You really can't have enough magnet trays when working on things. These are much like others I've purchased before and hold up well, they clean easily, the magnets are strong, stick to anywhere that's metal, painted or bare doesn't care.
Just don't buy this one.
