I bought this specifically to get an exact shape of my crotch for a or of palazzo pants I’m altering the pattern for. Unfortunately it is not stiff enough and loses the curve when I take it off my body. So forY exact need this flexible ruler doesn’t meet my specific needs.

Floppy. Doesn't hold the curves you need it to hold to be functional as an art tool. Would probably work fine as a measuring tool in the right circumstances.

The ruler holds a bend well and the inch inset is flat, but the metric side insert is cut too long and is wrinkled, so would not be accurate for measuring. I can use it because I work in inches, primarily, but, if you want metric accuracy, the ruler I got would not work for you. Also, the measurements don’t go to either end on either side, so you need to take that into account as well.It will do for measuring rises and inseams when sewing pants, which is what I needed it for, but it is not great quality.

I purchased this ruler to measure the contours of my horses back for a saddle. It worked great. It’s stiff enough to stay in place but flexible too. Good for tracing curvy things.

Well it has flexibility like explained, I was hoping my pencil would follow a cleaner line when tracing. The memory is not straight enough for what I want. I was better of using a strip of laminate to achieve my desired curves.

I sew clothes and I purchased two other flex rulers but neither were long enough to measure my full crotch curve. This 36” ruler long enough with extra inches. And it holds its shape so I can trace the length to my pattern. I love it.

I wish it were longer, although it did say how long it is. Very good for marking curvy spines on quilt tops.
