The ribbon fit the Olympic SM8 typewriter. The directions that came with it were enough to install it. It works fine. And it was made in America.

I delayed installing this new ribbon because I was certain the "new" one my ebay Olympia SM7 came with wasn't what was putting faint gray letters on the page, but this ribbon has changed everything! Super dark letters even when typing lightly. Ink was getting on my fingers as I installed it (which was super easy) and I knew that was a good sign, as my old ("new") one from ebay was totally dry. Thank you very much. I will be purchasing from you as long as you are in business and I am not in my grave longing for your delicious ink. LOVE YOU.

Great product. Needs to be cleaned out every other day because it works that well. Never knew how much hair was going down the drain. Highly recommend this item for new home buyer.
