Have a dry spot you keep forgetting to water? Do you continue to forget to turn your sprinklers off, wasting money and water? The Daybreak Timer will fix these problems by allowing you to water in two simple ways. Choose to water with the Daybreak side to have the timer automatically turn on when it detects sunlight, or choose to set a time and have the timer continue to water at that set time until settings are altered. The oversized dial is easy to operate even with gloved or wet hands. For added convenience, it is equipped with a manual watering option, so you don’t have to remove the timer to use your faucet. To use, simply twist the dial to your desired watering duration, choose to water every day or every other day in 5, 15, 30, or 60 minute increments, and the timer will turn itself off upon completion. You’ll never have to worry about forgetting to shut the sprinkler off again!

Great idea but the product came defective. Very simple setup to water plants.

As a sufferer of insomnia, I usually get up around 4 or 4:30 AM. I had installed this timer the night before and was anxious to see it actually kick on at daybreak. I didn't really know what daybreak was - when the sky starts to lighten? When the orb of the sun actually appears above the horizon? I'd peak outside every 15 minutes or so to see if the sprinklers had turned on. Once the sun was well above the horizon, I decided it wasn't going to happen. Since I was leaving town the next day, I wouldn't have time to experiment with it further, so I went to the local big box hardware store and bought a different, more expensive Orbit timer where you can actually set the start time and frequency. I returned the Daybreak model.

This hose watering time greater simplifies setup. Our flower beds are irrigated daily throughout the year to keep them healthy. Knowing that a morning watering schedule greatly reduces plant fungus, I've always set my hose timer to begin the watering schedule about an hour after "official" sunrise. Sunrise changes with the seasons, so that meant regularly reprogramming our clock-timed watering schedule. After replacing my clock-timed automatic hose watering valve with this one I was delighted with its simplicity and features. There are two ways to schedule watering cycles. For me the simplest one is to have the watering automatically begin after sunrise. The other is to set the timer for the watering cycle whenever I wish for it to start. Either way, this timer allows me to set daily or every two day cycles lasting 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes. This morning, for example, since it was an overcast day (February 7th), the timer waited until 8:10 am to begin the watering cycle. On days when it is not overcast the timer will begin the watering cycle earlier and, of course, will continue to adjust as sunrise comes earlier or later. That was exactly what I was trying to accomplish by regularly resetting my clock-based watering time.Powered by two AA cells, this watering timer is simple to install and competitively priced. Since this timer does not "sense" rainfall it does not suspend its cycle during natural precipitation. That feature is only available on much more expensive watering controllers. Since our irrigation is done with well water, the extra expense for a controller that automatically suspends watering during rainfall would not be justified.Having eliminated my manual watering schedule adjustments this hose timer had simplified my life and is easy to recommend.

Ready to use. There e not a lot of options, can only use one option at a time. But just to soak flower bed once a day for set time (1 hour for me), it works great.

I’m using the timer for a month, for a lawn around 150 sqm . The timer is easy to install and has simple controls. It requires 3 AAA batteries.
