I'm actually using so I can shut off water while away from RV while traveling. Safer to have the water pressure off and sometimes I forget before leaving so I can shut it off with the app any time. Using the app in this way is a bit clunky since it's not designed for this purpose, but it's not too bad and has worked quite well so far.

Needed another one, to replace the old one (costing more than twice the cost of this one) and it works better. The ones I had before always produced a water-hammer turning OFF/ON, that is not good for the copper piping under a cement based flooring under the house. If it springs a leak due to water-hammering it would be an astronomical cost to repair.This one opens and closes very soft - no hammer at all! Easy to program the water schedule is a bonus!

This review is for an earlier model that looks the same as this one. I had this set up and working for a year. Then it quit responding so I put fresh batteries in it. I saw some corrosion at tge battery terminals, cleaned that up. Now, I think the corrosion was due to moisture leaking into the battery compartment, of which the plastic is breaking apart from the pressure of the batteries in it. Super glue to the rescue, after which I will attempt to reconnect to this.Never again this brand, only big name brands, probably from a real store that can take returns if the product is shoddy.This is yet more cheap Chinese junk. Rook good like original, but made to lowest cost possible.

I have this timer set up to one of my five sprinklers in my yard. The other four are connected to two timers that each have two outputs. Unfortunately, four sprinklers were not enough for my yard, as there was a brown spot between two sprinklers that couldn't reach that area. I connected this timer to a new sprinkler to cover that area, programmed it to run immediately after the others, and it works flawlessly. The dial is clearly marked so it is fairly intuitive to program, the display is clear, and the included instruction manual explicitly lays out the programming process for those who may need it. No leaks in standby mode or during use, and I like how compact the unit is.
