These make the perfect setup for a gravel bike. The best thing about a gravel bike is the versatility. On long open stretches, you want to be aero or sometimes you just may want to shift the load off your hands and arms. You don't get a full aero tuck but that's not what a gravel bike is for. When you do hit the trails, full out aerobars really don't fit the bill sticking out ahead of your handlebars. These however are fine on a mountain bike trail. You won't even notice them. I leave mine on all the time. They don't come with directions but installation is rather intuitive. The threaded cross bar doesn't tighten all the way but once you put everything in place and tighten the fasteners, nothing moves. It is solid. After 500+ miles including a fair amount of gravel, off road and bikepacking mine have not move at all. Now when it comes to bikepacking, they really shine. That is why I bought them in the first place.I needed better support of my handlebar bag and considered some of the brackets out there specially designed to hold a dry bag but they are expensive for what they are, they are heavy and all they do is hold the bag. These are the perfect size aerobar for long days in the saddle with or without bikepacking gear. If there is a headwind, my forearms are resting on the handlebar with my hands on the aerobars. I never missed the pads of traditional aerobars. It seems like they are always in the way, especially when I need that real estate for handlebar bags. As you see in the photos, I use a small piece of rope to hold the handlebar roll up off the head tube to make room for brake lines and shifter cables and to spare the paint. It even holds the added weight of my cable and lock without moving. They make some nifty brackets that will support a bag but if you can find them, they are about double the price of these bars and again, they only serve one purpose, they hold a bag up.All in all, these are exactly what I needed for bikepacking, for road riding and they are not intrusive at all when I hit the wooded trails. They are lightweight, affordable and make an all day ride a much better experience with less fatigue and a bit more speed battling headwinds. This may be the best upgrade I ever did, especially with all you get for your money. Mine are here to stay. If you are thinking about it, just go for it. You won't be disappointed.

Great quality. The perfect set of bars for what I need(ed). Everything about these bars turned out as good, and then better than expected once on the bike.

Some may say pricey, but when you need a bit extra but not the full Monty this is the perfect jobbie, as yet unavailable in U.K. except through amazon

I would not want to rely on this for a multi-day ultra ride, and if I'm time trialing in any serious way, these are not the equipment.BUT, for my purposes, these clip-ons were immaculate. I planned to ride Le P'tit Train du Nord in Quebec province, just NW of Montreal, in one go. I'm not Lachlan Morton, so 220k in one shot is a big ride for me. This was extremely minimal bike packing: the least just-in-case stuff I could carry against bad weather or major breakdown on the more rural, remote northern half of the path. And I felt like I wanted some additional options for hand positions and the chance to get a touch more aero so I could eke out just a touch more km/h and shave some time off the overall effort, but I didn't want to carry much weight and I didn't want arm rests getting in the way of my regular hand position on the tops of the bars. In the end, I probably didn't need these, as I only shifted into them for maybe a cumulative hour of the whole day. But they are extremely simple and adjustable, light for non-carbon aero bars, plenty comfortable for what they are, and just enough extension to do the trick (and not a centimeter more). The only, and I mean only, issue I encountered was that it rained (poured, more accurately) the entire day and the temp maxed out at about 15' - 16' C. I had not put any bar tape or grip tape on these, and with the wet and cold, I regretted it. If I use them again, I'll likely put a tiny bit of grip tape against hand slippage if a repeat of wet conditions occurred. That's an issue with me, not with the product. For your reference, I put these on a standard road bike with standard aluminum drop road bike bars, and I didn't have to re-route cable housing, tape, or anything of the sort. 5 minute install time, and then three minutes of adjusting with a small Allen wrench (same size Allen for all hardware--nice job Origin8) on a couple of training rides before hand to get the angles, rise, extension just the way I needed it. In terms of the experience of the length, I found them to be comparable to old full-size bar-ends for a mountain bike. I wear size XL gloves, and I had just enough bar here to accommodate my hands fully, even a little to spare when I wrapped my forefinger around the ends.I've pulled the aero bars off my bike now, until I need them again, and they came off easily and left no marks. I didn't need any of the sizing collars for original install, and I can imagine using them for smaller diameter bars might cause some wear or scratches, but probably not much of an issue if you're careful. Not sure how much use these will get, but if you're thinking for regular riding this is something you need, then I do think these Origin8 aero/tri bars will satisfy.

I was looking for small cruising bars for my bike and found these. I just need an alternate hand placement occasionally to avoid carpel tunnel issues. They are a bit narrow, but there is some adjustment. They hold amazingly well in place without movement. I wrapped them in cork tape and they look outstanding on my bike.

Very easy to attach to handlebars and very sturdy after screws are tightened.
