When I was younger I was a bike tourer, toured around the western states and New Zealand, and a bike commuter thereafter. A year ago I bought the Velotechnik Scorpion FS26 recumbent trike. I tried to put the panniers I had used on my upright touring bike on the recumbent; the hangers did not fit the larger guage rack tubing on my Velotechnik, the hooks & straps did not align properly to hook/strap the panniers securely, and the pannier dropped into the derailleur, interfering with it's function. I went to our local bike shop and they very kindly removed a couple panniers they carried from the packaging to check the fit; same problem. I had been looking for panniers online over the next couple months when I found these Ortlieb panniers on Amazon. I was skeptical as I ordered, figured I would likely be returning them; but no, they fit like they were custom made for the trike! I just received them several days ago, so I can't comment on their durability, but they appear to be very well made from good, sturdy materials. Also, unlike my old nylon canvas panniers, these are made from waterproof material.

My second set for my second bicycle. Love love this product! My 1st set I bought else where and used on my Trek bike commute to work for 10 years in NC. Retired and bike is in FL w same 1st bike and those red bags. I ride every day when snowbirding in FL and carry groceries home, beach time w towels, etc.I just bought the 2nd set (yellow) for my electric bicycle. Very visible to see me coming towards you.So many people ask me when I have my groceries in the cart outside packing my purchases in each bag if I’m going to get it all in. Because of the shape of the bag (smaller bottom to wide to the top) it’s a perfect design. Ya gotta know how to pack. It holds everything that I buy. I do have to take purchases out of their sacks to repack but putting either bag set I own on my 2 bikes is so worth the commute to the store 5 miles away vs the car drive in traffic. The straps are so durable to close the waterproof bags. Enough strap length if the bag is full to the top (in my case w groceries) I simply adjust to leaving bag open w strap securing it down to its snap on the other side to hold it down. The bag top doesn’t need to be “rolled” closed just secure snapped to its hook to stable your bag for the wobble home.I probably have 25 lbs inside of ea bag when getting groceries. A lot of additional weight. The bag itself is made of very thick product and I haven’t gotten any rips, puncture holes etc.Excellent for rain rides and touring journeys. This bag set holds a lot of camping gear and food.I would recommend this product to anyone that rides a bicycle that wants to carry items.

I've been using these panniers for years. They're incredibly durable, easy to use, totally waterproof. These were a gift. I've had mine for 5 or more years, using them for commuting and touring in all kinds of weather. The tough and waterproof fabric stays pliable down to the -20F temps we get here in central Minnesota. They lift right off the rack and go back on easily. Can't say enough good about them. The only problem I ever had was that one of the snap-latches failed after thousands of uses. Ortlieb honored the lifetime warranty on them by sending a new set.

These are my first panniers since I bought Cannondales in 1982 for my TransAmerica bike ride. (I figured I should buy a new set every 38 years.) They are lighter than I expected! And I love the waterproof feature. The connecting mechanism is great and adaptable (my old Cannondales don't fit my new rack, hence my rash decision for an upgrade.) NOTE: At first I thought I was missing one of the 10mm spacers, but I later found it in a different plastic bag.

I've been commuting by bike for 2 years, and wanted to try rear panniers to extend my carriage so I could also run errands on the bike and keep the car in the garage even more often. I wanted good quality bags that were waterproof -- think wet roads and trails! I've used the Ortliebs only a handful of times thus far, but enough to share my initial impressions. What I like:* Fabric is strong and thick. I've completely filled them with heavy grocery items, and no problems.* The rear side of each bag is stiffened, which should be mandatory for a bike pannier (not all of them are, however).* There is an internal mesh pocket at the rear. My Thinkpad X230 in its neoprene sleeve case fits nicely inside it.* Great size -- they are internally wide and tall enough (even with the dry bag rolled down as far as possible) to hold full size frozen pizzas!* My shoes do not clip the bags when pedaling. I was worried about this because my bike has a small frame with even shorter chainstays. Note that some bags are wider than they are tall. I don't think this style would work on my bike.* The compression / shoulder straps are ingenious. They work well as compression straps and are serviceable as shoulder straps.* The QL2.1 system works great with my Topeak Super Tourist rack. Watch out, Ortlieb's newer series 3 systems require a special rack! What I don't like. None of these comments are specific to the Ortlieb bags:* The bike is not as nimble or responsive with loaded panniers. For my 13 mile daily commute, which is half off-road, I far prefer 25 pounds on my back than 25 pounds in the panniers.* The bike exhibits some flex with heavily loaded panniers. This morning's grocery run was an estimated 45 pounds of goods, and I felt some slight yet undesirable decoupled lateral motion between the seat and the handlebars when climbing out of the seat. The bike wasn't overloaded in gross terms, but I don't think it's design expects to have so much weight centered behind and above the rear axle.* Loading and unloading a bike without a kickstand is an interesting balancing act. One learns quickly to fill the panniers before attaching them to the bike, then removing them from the bike before emptying them, to simplify things. Even then, you need a place to prop the bike for the actual loading and unloading of the panniers on/off the bike.I am happy with my purchase, but that happiness is predicated on receiving many years of reliable service from them. I plan to come back and update my review if they don't prove as durable as their price suggests they should be.

A pair of rear panniers. Good quality, waterproof panniers that you lift the handle and they fit onto the pannier rack. A good size with a pocket inside for storing thin stuff(map? etc).

Son cojonudas, el material es muy bueno, los acabados también. El tema de la correa para usarla como bandolera es un poco más incomodo pero como su uso no suele ser de más de unos minutos cumple su función.Me las volvería a comprar.
