Trouble finding drink bladders that fit in a sling or fanny pack. This one is made for that. It holds about 45-50 ounces of your chosen hydration beverate. It has an excellent bite valve that works great and has a simple on/off switch. And it is made by Osprey, so it's quality. I carrt extra fluids in a soft bag to refill the bladder if needed.

I have a crusty, old Osprey Seral 7 hydration pack. Despite being abused and put away wet for well over 5 years, it's still in one piece and all the zippers work! I periodically wash it when it starts to get gnarly or the mud gets caked in it too thoroughly to brush off when dried.Every 12-18mo or so I replace the reservoir - there's only so many times you can use a bottle cleaning tablet before one of these things develops a funk. That's on me for washing it VERY infrequently.I bought one of these a couple months ago, and it's a new design. The bag top closure is terrible - it's hard to close and frequently jams. The old style worked fine and almost never jammed up.The bite valves are delicate and develop pin holes very easily. Every now and again I find that my hip and leg are soaking wet while on a ride, or the back of my car has a giant puddle or wet spot from the pinholes leaking. To add insult to injury, I ordered a 3-pack of just the silicone bite valve sleeves. The package says it fits all of their reservoirs. Not true. They redesigned that as well, but are still selling the old version that doesn't fit this new style with a shorter sleeve. I used a razor blade to trim it, but it is not a perfect fit and leaks unless I have the manual valve shut off. What a pain that is. While riding I very often get just a second or two to pop the bite valve in my mouth before I have to get my hand back on the bars ASAP or risk crashing. When I have to manually unlock the valve, it defeats the purpose of on-demand "bite and suck" valve. I have to slow down, stop, or wait for a better opportunity to do the more involved maneuver. This reservoir (and the packs they fit in) are specifically marketed as suitable for mountain biking. If it were for hiking where your hands are generally free, this would be fine. And now the coup de grâce: That manual lever is ALSO delicate. In all my years of mountain biking, I've only ever broken one of those plastic bite valves before, and it was in a gnarly crash. This one is so flimsy that it broke within a month or so, and I don't even know exactly how it broke.Add to this the useless carry handle that simply takes up valuable space in the pack. Did anyone, anywhere EVER have a problem holding this reservoir open to fill it? It was fine before. Now it's just bulky, rigid plastic that prevents me from putting my small handsaw in the adjacent pocket. Why redesign something that works? This new redesign is (1) more bulky, (2) much harder to use, (3) more fragile, and (4) NOT backwards compatible with their replacement silicone bite valves, despite what the box says. It's really a shame, because the pack itself is seemingly indestructible. After the abuse I've put it through, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that it's literally bulletproof. These new reservoirs, on the other hand, are straight up garbage. Literally, I'm throwing mine in the trash and buying a replacement from a different brand to stuff into my crusty old hip pack.

Does what it’s supposed to do. Doesn’t fit in the pack as well as the old version. If you add an electrolyte mix it stains bladder yellow and it’s impossible to remove. Per manufacturer yellowing isn’t harmful. New bladder is easier to fill and close. New bit valve is easier to use and doesn’t leak.

The red piece of plastic is in the way. Now the storage space in the pack is useless. Horrible design.

Perfect addition to my hiking gear, small and lightweight enough to fit in the pack and provide additional water on hikes. Easy to use, no leaks, and great functionality.

Bladder is okay, holds water just fine. The hose isnt long enough to ‘snake’ around backpack. They should just make it with a longer hose so that way you can cut it better to size. So had to buy the extendo hose. The part I think really upset me about this product is the fact that either I bought the wrong valve caps for it or its not advertised correctly. I ended up with older valve cap with their newest bladder. The older valve cap does not stay on the newer bladder at all. Also I had to use strong 3M double sided tape to get the magnet where I want it. On my back strap, instead of on the sternum strap, because the hose wasnt long enough for that. Magnetic is a cool feature I like about this product.Ended up using a whole lime cut up into wedges, putting it in the bladder with water and stuck it in the freezer for like 3hrs to get rid of plastic taste(saw a video online). I think it worked, but the mouthpiece was still a little plastic tasting. But think overtime that will go away.Overall its not a bad product, def buy it. But like they should do a bit more research to see how people are actually using the product.
