I own a MEC hiking carrier and their rain covers aren’t in stock. This is generally compatible and works well.

The description is written like you getting the carrier and all I got was the rain cover. That so misleading

This rain cover fits my osprey carrier perfectly. I like to hike with my little one and this is nice to have as an accessory to the cover in case the weather doesn’t cooperate. The cover installs super quick and securely. It is easy to take on and off. I don’t know if it would work as well for a different brand or carrier but depending on the dimensions it might be usable. For the osprey poco it works great.

Keeps the little one mostly dry. I like that it is packable and reflective. It’s mostly easy to put on, but I wouldn’t say it’s quick if you’re out in a hike and get caught in weather. I do wish it were long enough to cover my little one’s feet. They manage to stick out and get wet. I have the poco light so the back straps don’t go around quite as tight as I’d like.

This is a must have for your baby carrier. Fits great and keeps kids dry. Only use in emergency situations as it's not super breathable, but dont get caught in a rainy hike without it!

I have an osprey poco plus and this rain cover is a great addition to that backpack carrier as we live in the rainy pacific northwest. Its nice to have in case we're out and it start to rain, as the sunshade won't keep my kiddo dry by itself. The rain cover is a bit tricky to get on, especially if you have a child in the carrier and its raining. In general its pretty easy to drape over the carrier but securing it is where its a bit tricky. The two lower velcro straps fasten around the kickstand easily. The tabs work well enough but you may have to pull a bit harder than you think to get them to where they secure into the pack. The tricky ones are the lower two button type securing anchors. On my carrier, there's no clear spot for them to secure into so I look around the closes places to where it should be and find a few possible options but they're tricky as its around where the hip belt is. I made it work but I'm not sure if its correct. This is more of an issue with the Poco carrier than the rain cover itself. Most people will probably figure something out but to someone who is pretty experienced in outdoor gear and assembling things, it wasn't immediately apparent where it needed to go. The materials of the rain cover are what you would expect, lightweight and water repellant. I'm not sure it will stand up for years of abuse in a downpour as its just DWR coated nylon, but it should do the job as long as you use the Poco carrier for your little one. It fits back into its little bag easily and has windows for your kid to see out to the sides. Overall its the quality I expect from Osprey and a great addition to the carrier to extend our hiking season to the less-than-ideal days.
