I really liked this product because I enjoyed the blue lights in the background when I used my laptop. I also enjoyed the cooling effect because not only did it cool the machine but it cooled me as well. What I didn’t like is that mine did not last for a long time. I may have only been able to use it as a cooler for maybe a year. I still use it but now I am thinking of replacing it because the cooling portion no longer works. Not sure if there is a short in the cord or the motor died in the fan so I have to replace.

It took me awhile to write this review but here it is: This was the first laptop cooler I ever bought. Unfortunately, it did not last long. (just a few months after purchasing) The lights started blinking on and off. And because of that, the fan also went on and off because the mechanism is synced together. Also, the usb ports just stopped working without warning. I liked the adjust-ability on it though along with the front stoppers that prevents the laptop from sliding off the base. However, would I repurchase? No. It's performance just didn't live up to my expectations.

Oh man....I should have written a review months ago! I was so excited when I got this cooling pad. It fit perfectly for my 17" laptop and I eagerly set it up for use. First couple of weeks I probably used the laptop for maybe 8 hours - 2 hours here, 1 or 2 hours there kind of thing. Then all of a sudden the middle fan (largest of the 5 fans) started making noise when it ran. You know the kind of noise that signals the fan is going bad! That was about two months after purchase...but hardly used. Well, the noise got worse and worse so I finally unscrewed the unit and disconnected the fan and just used the 4 small ones. Well...That worked of for a while, but now the usb plug/electronics are screwed up and the unit doesn't even turn on. Or if it does turn on, it shuts off and comes back on at random. So I just got online to shop for a different brand and realized I never wrote a review. So here was my review.My review is simple....biggest POS on the market. Avoid it like the plague. Personally I'll never buy anotherr product made by optimo. Optimo? HA! More like Craptimo! Trust me....I rarely write BAD reviews. This unit is pure junk.

I was a little unsure when I first order this product. I have a laptop top that I bought new but with in the first six months I had to send in twice to be repaired. After the second time I suspected the damage was coming from the laptop over heating. So I started looking for laptop cooling products and this is what came highly recommend. However I was a bit unsure if the fans would be able to keep my laptop cool enough as I love playing games for hours at a time and can I place high demand on my high laptop. Have to say this has done the job of cooling quite well. Whenever I feel my laptop getting warm and I can simply boast it up some on the stand. If is still getting hot after that turning on the fans will cool it back down. It is powered by a usb cord so you will need a free usb port to use. However there is another usb port on the cooling pad to replace what you lost on the laptop. And yes your laptop can read what you put into that usb port. The light on the bottom, while a cool idea, is basically useless to the user of the laptop. When your laptop is on the pad it will block any view of the light to the user unless you left up the laptop to see. The USB cord that came with gave out after few months of use. But I am a bit heavy handed and tend to be rough on cords. Plus you can found a replacement cord at any store that sells anything to do with computers at a low cost. Over all this is great product.

I've had this cooling pad for about a month now. I use this for my pretty old Dell Inspiron 14R, which has had overheating problems. The cooling pad has no problem fitting the 14" screen, and I can see it accommodating 17 inches easily. It's made of durable plastic and is propped up by a strong enough metal bar with 6 different heights, including the flat position. You can adjust the position between about 15 degrees to about 40 degrees. Two small feet at the bottom can be flipped up to prevent the laptop from sliding down on higher positions. They are very sturdy and padded so as to not scratch the laptop.The laptop sits on a strong metal mesh. Under the mesh is 4 small fans on the outer corners, and one big fan in the center. I don't see the need for this feature, but a bright blue LED is emitted when the fan is on which looks really high tech and awesome. This is more than enough to keep my dinosaur laptop from overheating and slowing down. The fans run very quietly even on the highest setting (you can adjust the fan speed using a small scroll wheel in the back, which simultaneously adjusts the brightness of the LEDs).There are two usb ports in the back of the pad. With the included cable you can get this up and running by plugging into one of your laptop's usb ports. The cable is more than long enough, and I had to zip tie it to a smaller length to keep things clean. The second usb port on the pad can be used for a mouse or usb drive or whatever you need.This pad is best for laptops that are old and have overheating problems, or if you want to use your laptop on your bed without suffocating the fans from the bedding. As a college student I do a lot of my homework on my bed and hated when my laptop got mad at me for putting it on top of my bed sheets. This cooling pad saved me that trouble.
