I just replaced the transom on my jon boat with fresh wood and paint. The last thing I want is to crack the paint I used to waterproof it. The Outboard Transom Plate is a perfect aid in that goal. It is about 3/8" thick which means less I have to tighten the screws. The hard PVC plastic is light and has 6 screw holes to mount it to the transom. I do wish they had sent some screws with it. The textured surface on one side helps the mounting screws on your motor hold tight. I feel the price of this plate is cheap enough and worth the money to protect the expensive transom. Would recommend to anyone.

This transom plate is what I need in my restoration of a 12' aluminum jon boat. My small gas motor or trolling motor will have a sturdier purchase when I mount it on this plate.
