So I really like this and it's weather resistant which is fantastic but the motion detection is honestly lack lustering. It's perfect for a small space but if you're wanting to monitor a large space, I recommend getting something else.

I bought this to mount on the back of my house to notify me of people or animals passing through the back yard. I have PoE cams out there, but they are often fooled by trees or shadows or rain/snow, so using them to trigger automations was a waste. This Onvis sensor picks up animals and people but has never pinged me because of a tree blowing in the wind or a shadow on the ground. Now I can trust it to trigger my floodlights when I'm not home and not have to worry that the lights will be turning on and off because it's windy.

Overall we are satisfied with the product, but it goes off constantly for any small movement. Living out in the country, we wanted something by the front driveway to let us know when someone was coming up.Although it does work for this purpose, it also goes off with every bird or a tree branch in the wind. Cause if some distrust in the actual notifications that are delivered. There is no way that I have found to decrease the sensitivity to just a large movement like a car.Installing was easy, and the set up was a breeze with the rest of my HomeKit devices.

Seems nice. But it’s always detecting motion. I have it pointing as down as I can and it’s still detects motion when nothing is there. Tried setting the sensitivity to low it didn’t help. I have a 100ft driveway and an acre lot so it’s not like it’s picking up motion from the road or the neighbors. The link to brightness setting doesn’t work either. Set it be active when dark, getting motion alerts all day. Also the app is bad. I select the active when dark setting and it says it set the opposite, but has I mentioned neither setting works anyways. Temperature sensor is useless, it was exposed to the morning sun and it said it was 70, but it was 36 outside. I’m upset I waited so long to set it up because I can’t return it. But I can at least discourage others from buying it.

No need for custom Apps, direct easy setup from iOS Home App. Had only for one day but setup was easy and works as advertised. The Onvis app allows additional options to adjust sensitivity but is not really needed. Keep in mind it uses the Thread protocol. You need a recent HomePod or AppleTV or any other thread border router.

I set these up at my front door, my side door, my basement steps and the hall outside of the bedrooms in the house. Now, when I hear that odd noise at night I have no concerns as I know that no one is in the house. These little guys allow me to sleep more deeply as I no longer worry about not knowing if someone is in my home. They were very easy to install, work very well and have lasted over a year that we have been using them. We will definitely buy these again.

Once activated this item deactivates within a couple of days and requires constant reactivation or it doesn’t work. Do not recommend this item.
