I purchased this because I needed something that could adapt to small space. Works. No frills. Not stylish, but does the job. Need to buy baskets or something because the shelves are just bars.

Shelves are narrow and lower than I wanted on the bottom in comparison to std lid.

Worth buying

I have a TINY guest bathroom with nearly no storage whatsoever. Aside from the small cabinet where the sink is, there's nowhere in the bathroom to keep anything except a towel. I've put up over-the-door storage and a couple of shelving units, but I really needed something so when a guest comes for more than a night or two, they have an actual space to put their toiletries. I've tried several storage options in the past year to try and remedy the lack of storage situation, but for This Reason or That Reason, there's always been a problem with each solution so far. When I found this "Over The Toilet Storage Shelf, 4-Tier Bathroom Organizers and Storage, Bathroom Space Saver with Adjustable Rack Metal, White" I was pretty excited that I may have finally found something that will work. And it will.I love that this unit is something you can put together by yourself. I recommend a friend be present, however, especially when it's time to actually place the support poles. It's just not as difficult with a second pair of hands to keep things steady... and the second set of eyes to make sure you're aligning things properly doesn't hurt either.The instructions are pretty clear, but the images in the printout that came with mine lacked any real detail, so each image of the pole sections looked identical and it was hard to tell what each step was supposed to be. I found it very difficult to determine which piece was being referenced by each diagram and was flipping back to the "packet contents" list on the first page over and over to figure out if I was holding the piece referenced in Step X.In the end, I'm not entirely certain that I've installed this storage shelf properly and I question the stability of it. It feels like the poles are too "wobbly" to be secure, and I am very wary of placing anything with weight upon the shelves. Further, the shelves themselves... well, considering they are expandable (which is awesome), why was it necessary for them to be made of POLES? I'm guessing poles were the easiest way for the shelving to be expandable, which makes sense and I get that. However, they really should have taken this a step further. Instead of poles, they could have used the same design principle, but provided a flat surface. I HAVE an expandable shelf that is set up like this, so I promise I'm not making up products out of thin air, haha!This is a shelving system intended to go over a toilet, right? So what I want is shelves that ARE NOT SOLID. Wait, what? Yeah, I definitely want to store things above a container full of liquid - quite possibly unclean liquid - doesn't everyone? Why on earth would they design this with POLES as the shelf surface itself? It's silly. The shelves are nearly useless unless you rig them up with something SOLID to cover the gaps between the poles. You might be able to store linens on them the way they are, but you will not be keeping bottles or potted plants like in the Photoshopped product images.I wanted to like this a lot more than I actually do, so I suppose it goes without saying that this was a bit disappointing. I can endorse or recommend this shelving unit, but only with serious reservations about the stability and the (lack of) usefulness of the shelves.
