Just okay. It’s huge to be used as a coffee scale. I returned it. It was good but not great.

Prior to this is used kitchen scales. They were supposed to be accurate to a gram. They were not, mainly because of the sensitivity. This usually end with using a lot of coffee beans and being way out on the quantity for espresso. Now I’m not an espresso snob, that demands 0.1g accuracy for Coffee shots. This scale does do .1 g accuracy and doesn’t cost hundreds of dollars. Anyway is good enough for me to get better coffee

Overall very good design except for the display isn't bright enough when in sunlight through kitchen windows . Sunlight washes out the display and makes it unreadable.

The OXO coffee scale works great. It lives up to the professional recommendation given by thetesters at Americas Test Kitchen which is what influenced me to buy it.

- Accurate to either the 0.5 gram (if under a specified mass) to 0.1 gram. I use it to accurately measure salt for brining and curing salt for small hams.If the AC is blowing on it, then the mass readout will fluctuate +or- 1 gram, and that is to be expected with a gool scale. Also easy to clean, which is nice.

The Oxo Coffee Scale is magnificent accuracy for the money and basic features. It may not offer all the bells and whistles and sensitivity other scales offers (depending on the size of the coffee bean the scale may ignore or pick up added weight of bean), but what it does offer is basic good weighing and timing results. The weight it gives you is remarkably accurate with moving water for pour overs. This scale offers results, accuracy, and timing for people wanting to improve their coffee making without wondering how many coffees they will have to make to not feel like they paid too much.

I bought this scale to replace an old Hario one that met its unfortunate end after being dropped into a sink full of water (RIP Hario V60 drip scale, you were a real one). After a year of using this oxo, I can officially say it works ok when it works, but it goes through batteries like water. It also frequently conks out in the MIDDLE of a brew due to dead batteries with only about 2 seconds of a low battery warning. Additionally, it seems to have a bit of a drift, where the weight will be +/-~.5 g after a few moments of whatever you're weighing sitting undisturbed on the scale. This effect is exaggerated as the battery gets lower.Even though this scale still "functions" I'm getting rid of it and replacing it with another Hario. I just cannot stand how frustrating this one is to use. And, while I know this isn't an advertised feature, when I buy a "coffee scale" I sort of expect it to be able to fit on the drip tray of my mid range espresso machine... This OXO is way too big for that. The Hario had no trouble with it.My recommendation is to steer clear of this one, and go for the smaller, slightly cheaper, Hario V60 scale.

Design is great and the interface is very friendly, but kinda failed its main function. The weight fluctuates constantly and never the same despite the same item is placed on it.

Use these scales for measuring my coffee doses and it does it well. I like the silicon cover, just not sure of its usefulness. When adding beans I sometimes have to remove the container to an updated reading as adding 1 bean at a time doesn’t register as a change.Power on and standby have long enough timeouts.Zeroing/Tare’ing work well too.Haven’t used the timer function as yet.Not comfortable for it to fit under my coffee machine group head.

I brought it because I need one for the Niche grinder. Very happy because this is very good for all other general kitchen needs. I am not going to have a "just for coffee" scale. Too much crap at home and I am a little broke after getting the Niche. 6LB capacity is sufficient for my 3 persons family. .1g is useful when you are measure 18g coffee close. It won't matter for stuff at more than 25g range. It is certainly not a precision lab scale as it is more limited by the full plastic construction. I think 10lb max capacity would be good but I suppose I never really need it anyway.Update:It is draining battery - hold the power button to shut then no problem

As coffee scales go, these are decent! The sales look slick, they include a timer which is brilliant for doing pour overs. They are sensitive and measure 0.1 of a gram, which is great! Accuracy is brilliant, I have a set of Acaia Pearl weighing scales, and the OXO can pretty much keep up with them. Not as quick response time, but not far off. What I don’t like is that my pair arrived with a notable scratches on the surface, and the material that it is made from marks very easy. To me this is silly, as coffee scales get dirty. The silicon rubber mat thing that has to be used is also very hard to clean, when you try to dry it it picks up every bit of fluff from the towel and looks a mess. Overall, a great buy though.

I love OXO products in general, I have many kitchen tools from them which I think are exceptionally well designed and built. I think highly of them as a brand.Which is why I'm sad to say this scale is total crap.It claims 0.1g accuracy up to the max weight of 3kg/6lb. But the actual weights it reports are totally inconsistent and inaccurate. I can place something weighing ~800g on the scale, remove it, put it back on, and get two different numbers each time, a few whole grams off from each other. 0.1g increments are meaningless if the sensor isn't even consistent to within a whole gram at less than a third of it's max capacity. The sensors are also very "sticky" - I can put a container on the scale, zero it out, and start adding coffee beans to weigh out my dose, and see the display stick to one number even after I've added several gram's of beans. This is the only reason I even want 0.1g increments for coffee, to get more accurate doses. The consistency issues alone ruin the product, it fails at the only thing it needs to succeed at. But the rest of it isn't that great either. The "buttons" are just small pressure sensors under a plastic panel, there is no tactile indication of where they are or any feedback at all after you press them, and they take a weirdly long time to respond (like, press and hold for a full second).Just so disappointing.
