Thought I was ordering 2 springs from the photo. Used the sizing method per instructions (counting coils, etc) but the spring was MUCH stiffer than the springs I was replacing on an old one piece garage door. Had to install with a bunch of slack in the chain and adjust to the weakest position in order to close the door. On open position the garage door operator holds the door all the way open. I chose these springs because of the safety wires that are supposed to contain a broken spring. If you aren't familiar with garage doors or operators be very wary of doing this yourself.I thought the difference in tension must have been the old springs were stretched out but I believe the temper or diameter must have been a little different. Seller was no help in resolving the issue.

I was replacing the hinge hardware on my heavy wood garage door as the rod bearings were falling out of the joint. I decided to replace the springs as well, though they were working ok. That way everything would be new.My original springs were P728C, which the discription said was good for up to 300 pounds. My door is sold wood and heavy. I decided to change to a stronger spring (P528C) which the discriptions said would handle doors up to 350 pounds. When I installed the new springs, the electric door opener could no longer open the door. It would stop at about 4 ft. This did not make sense to me. I adjusted the attachment points, lowering the bottom lag screw one inche. The door would still not open.I then re install the old springs and the door opened with no problem. I also noted that the new springs were 1 inch shorter than my old springs. Perhaps they were mismarked???All I know is these springs could not handle the weight of my solid wood door, while the old springs (P728C) worked well.....I had to return the new springs, which Amazon handled with no issues.
