bought one of these and it worked just fine, bought two more for other backpacks. it wont flow like Niagra falls but it definitely does the job well. Battery lasts ok and is the standart 5 volt usb rechargable that cell phone use makeing this more user friendly when you are in the boonies and need to charge it.

I took this pump on a 5-day backpacking trip in the northern Sierra Nevadas and I must say, it worked far better than I had hoped. I honestly had low expectations when I purchased it, but after my hike, I am very impressed by how well it worked and how long it lasted. I charged it up just once before leaving home and never again had to recharge it while I was hiking, even though I used it about twice a day while pumping roughly 2-3 liters of water each day. It's very light, seemly durable, and it pumps just slightly less than one liter in 60 seconds. Overall, it's much easier to use than my old hand pump and faster. All one has to do is stand near the water's edge, drop the intake hose (with a Sawyer mini filter attached) into the water, put the outlet hose into the empty water container and push the "on" button--and that's it. Just stand there and let the water flow. Simple. No pumping by hand. No awkward bending over or having to balance while pumping furiously and trying to keep the bottle upright. None of that. Moreover, it's lighter than my old hand pump. Excellent machine. We'll see how durable it actually is with more uses. But so far, it's great.

I just received yesterday. I was surprised that it is bigger than I expected. Also the website that the qr code sends you to for directions would only give instructions for a faucet. You really don't need the instructions to understand how to use it it would be nice to be able to glance at it at least once. I will be trying it out at the river in the nest few days and will update them

I tried this water pump for the first time on my hike yesterday. We stopped part-way in at a lake to refill. I hooked the pump to my filter and was amazed at how quickly it filled the bottle. It would be great with a group - no pumping or squeezing, just flip a switch and it quickly fills the bottles up. It's lightweight and easy to take along. Instructions are online, so be sure to access them first time before going out of service range or try it out first at home. It would be handy to have a little bag to put the pump in - but I can put it with the filter together in the same bag. I was very pleased with the product - fast and easy to use.

Overall, I'm very happy with the product. As someone who has used the Sawyer filters for years, the convenience of just being able to push a button is amazing! I used it to fill multiple water bottles, all quickly and without issue. With my first attempt the pump seemed to be struggling to push the water through the filter, but a quick backflush fixed the issue and after that didn't have any problems. I suspect that depending on the mineral content of the water this may need to happen a little more regularly than if you are using the squeeze bag, but it's an easy fix.As I normally use a filter on longer backpacking trips, I wanted to get a feel for how long the battery would last. I am happy to say that I have pumped over a dozen 24oz bottles and things still seem to be going strong. The only concern I have is around the size and weight. For ultralight backpackers, the 7.5oz (vs. the 0.8oz of the squeeze bag) is significant. I'll probably cut one of the tubes in half to save a little weight. But again, overall very happy with the product!
