I ordered this 2-pack of Echo Speed Geed 400 Universal Kits yesterday, 25 Mar 25, and received them today. I was concerned by some of the reviews, stating missing parts or receiving only one head. SHAZAM! I received two unopened, factory-packed and sealed Echo SF 400 Universal kits. The worry was for naught. I would order again.

Came exactly as pictured, these are in fact echo speedfeed 400 heads with the universal adapters. I was worried I'd get just the heads without the adapters but they all came sealed in blister type packaging. I'm definitely happy with these and will be a big addition to our landscaping company.I was also like to add that it was cheaper for me to buy two of these on Amazon then at the local echo dealer that seemed to never even have them in stock, great value.I have a stihl kombi km131 and the green adapter with the spacer fits perfectly, and works as intended, and designed. It was a bit difficult to press the adapter into and out of the housing but is doable.

Face it, a trimmer head is an expendable item - they wear out. Given that most OEM trimmer heads are exasperating, it is a happy day when it breaks so you can try something else. If you buy another OEM head because you know it fits, then you did it to yourself. With a few different thread types and CW and CCW rotation you can fit most anything out there. I've used these heads for years with a couple of Stihl trimmers up to a 4-stroke FS-130 on a 40 acre property and they are great. I have now downsized to a 2 acre property and switched to an eGo MST-1603 battery trimmer for mental health reasons and the Speed-Feed fits it as well.

Ordered two of the speed feed heads. Both heads arrived in a plastic bag. No packaging and no instructions. The universal adapters were missing as well. This is a known issue as another customer reported the same thing happening to them as well. This was frustrating to say the least. Item is pictured as being in the original package with the adapter pieces. That is not what I received.

Trimmer head appears to be well made and easy to replace trimmer cord. The bushing kit did not have a bushing that would fit my modern trimmer. I had to lathe out a new one so I could use the Echo replacement head.

I was very frustrated with my two DeWalt trimmers. I trimmer head line spool assembly was poorly designed, did not dispense trim line readily or easily upon a "bumping" motion and lastly the head assembly was an almost impossible task to re-spool or replace trim line.Complaints to DeWalt and its retail partners went unheeded. Using the Google machine I discover dozens and dozens of similar complaints. Seemed that DeWalt was turning a deaf ear to its customers (I own a lot of other Dewalt hand and power tools.... (I look carefully now before buying more of the brand).Luckily a few YouTube videos were available from like minded homeowners and one guy explained how he bought Echo replacement trim heads and showed how to swap out a new Echo head for the DeWalt head. Many suggestions also to upgrade to better, tougher .95 trim line instead of the stock .80. Done and done. It was easy. The two Dewalt trimmers now have Echo heads and robust .95 line. They just work. The way the original design should have. What's wrong with companies in America these days?
