Direct replacement. Took all of 15 minutes to install. Unit runs quietly and like new. Better felt gasket on this unit. The old one had a rubber gasket that had deformed and was not sealing well. So probably better than new.

I replaced it with a "Jakel EL INC j238 120V, 60Hz, 1.7.1A" for my Corsaire Rheem Furnace, which was making noise for couple of months. I replaced it yesterday and for hours it was working awesome but it seems that it melts the rubber between the inducer and furnace so now the blower wheel is too close to the furnace's body and it's making a loud noise which I noticed it's denting the body of the furnace!I think I must return it and install the old one! :(*****************************Well, I loosed the Blower Wheel's screw a little bit and pushed it in for 2-3 millimeters but it was scratching the tips of 3 screws inside the Inducer. so I took the Blower Wheel out completely and cut the tip of those 3 screw (which was not easy) and put theBlower Wheel back and pushed it in 2-3 millimeters in again. So far it's been working fine for 3 days.

This works well as a replacement (took maybe 15 mins total to replace and appears to be solid cast out of alluminum) but beware of the gasket seal! The powerful draft induction may also cause the seal to get sucked into the fan assembly. Also be sure to thoroughly test this when you get it as even a slight warble will cause the auto-shutoff to eventually engage. If the inducer fan shuts off your HVAC will shut off so you end up in an endless loop where the unit turns on, runs for a while, gets hot, the metal expands a bit and then motor starts to make a warbling sound eventually leading to a shutdown.Update: Contacted the vendor and they immediately offered to refund the purchase due to the inconvenience of that failed part. Increasing rating to 4 due to great customer service.

It looks like it is very solid and well made, however it begins "rubbing"/the fan gets out of round when it gets hot, and then turns off, turing off the furnance, thereby forcing the furnance to continually cycle on and off. Based on a conversation with the manufacturer, apparently it is an out of round motor. Appears I just received a faulty one, based on the other reviews.

The product came on time and works perfectly! Way better than the prior unit. I had no problems installing this part.

Exact fit and runs very quiet. Very minor wobble on fan blade (thus 4 stars) but seems to have no effect.Definitely a good buy.
