Worked well but I did split one of the female sides trying to pound it in,flush with the surface. Make your countersink deep enough so you don't have to pound it hard.

These are probably fine for low end furniture built to modern production standards, where you need them to be loose to match hole placement tolerances. For precision positioning, look elsewhere. There's noticeable radial play. To reduce this, you could probably set the pin a little proud of its hole, so it seats deeper in the cone, but there will still be play.

The outer barrels of both the cups and the pins are not round or symmetrical. This makes properly aligning the two near impossible. This product would work well on casual furniture, but not on the stuff I’m trying to build.

I recommend these.In the build process, I have run my pins through multiple scraping operations as well as needing to remove one or two (again, just part of the build process). They are wearing well and really do appear to have solid color (i.e. not just a brass coating). BTW they also will bend a little - trust me an added feature for that last little bit of amature misalignment. ;-)

The dowel pins ans sockets worked fine. They fit together with the ones already in the table.Delivered quickly and easily put int he new leaves.
