I bought this case to customize for a wooden whistle. I intended to paint the outside and thought the logo was just stamped on, but it is embossed into the case. I might have tried to figure out how to make it work, but the latches were cheap and didn’t close properly. I returned it.

My grandson likes it and it protects his piccolo. However, it’s hard to open especially at first.

The case is really nice and sturdy on the outside. Once you put the pieces in, it kind of has to make an indention in the top cushion on the inside from closing. The head fits ok but the body does not fit snug or in an indention at the top because the cushion or padding is just straight with no cut outs. The piccolo will not rotate a lot in the case but after it makes it's mark inside, it's fine. I still like it. Gets the job done.

This is a nicely built case but it does not work well with a standard piccolo head joint. The slot where the head joint resides is too large and sloppy and it rattles around inside the case. I’m going to add a couple of pieces of heavy duty weatherstripping to fill in the areas so it fits snug.
