I purchased this from Amazon thinking it was coming from Fender. I was originally going to buy from Sweetwater but it was just easier with my Amazon account. It was shipped across the country from a music store in WI. Return fee is $53. Please be aware of this if you make a purchase from Fender on Amazon.Bass was fine. Just not a fan of shortscales I guess. Tones were pretty cheap sounding and pickups had wildly different volumes when using the switch. Build quality was very solid for the price though.

I bought one of these Rascal basses a week ago. I got it from Fender because I was unable to get it in Sherwood Green anywhere else at the time. Man, I love it. What you really need to know about it is #1, it is not a small bass or lightweight. It is as big as a P bass and weighs about the same, even though the scale is 30" instead of the standard long scale 34". (Make sure to buy 32" scale strings because of the string through the body style bridge.) #2, The pickups sound amazing but not like other Fender types of basses. They are NOT single coils. They are full and smooth. What they lack is the funky twang for slapping. I have a few outboard preamps and was easily able to get that with the right EQ. #3, the bass is very well made! I am having so much fun with this bass! I bought so I could switch off when my hands feel beat up from arthritis and lots of playing. This is a good move if anyone relates.
