Slide the protection collar back off of the fitting and use a finely pointed tool to hook under the high spot on the ring clip and pull the clip out. You will reuse it, so don't bend the clip out of shape.Replace the clip and shove the new line in. The clip will hold it in position. If your fitting is damaged, be sure to get the proper one for your system. There are several types and sizes and they are NOT interchangeable..Don't bother with the cheap line removal tools. Most are worthless as they are injection molded plastic and too thick to fit into the tiny gap between the line and fitting.

This was an exact OEM replacement part that I trust. It is the exact part for a really good price. Changing the line takes patience, but if you dont lose your cool you'll get it done. I bent the old line just a little to make it easier to get out. I checked the old line with this one side by side. The bends were spot on. I've had it on for 4 days and it has fixed my slow leak. I couldn't be happier for $25 after tax and a hour of my time. Will buy acdelco for any future needs. And it was at my door in less than 2 days with prime.

This were a perfect fit . OEM GM part made in Canada. I bought all three transmission lines at once for my 2001 silverado extend cab, fleet side 5.3L, Z71. Your transmission type is a code on your vin list inside the glovebox. I removed my grill, black cover under the hood over the radiator and front bumper (putting new bumper on anyway). This is not fun! Penetrating oil on the connectors, use a pick to pry out spring clips. To facilitate remove of the line on top off the transmission; I removed the cross member under the oil pan ( it doesn't support anything your safe). Also remove a small guard with 2 10mm bolts on the edge of the transmission pan, it will give you more room to get your hand up their to reach the lines. I did one line at a time. Unclip the lines from the brackets. ( Don't worry if the plastic clips break holding the two lines together don't replace them that is where mine rusted it holds salt there.) Feed each line through the front; that is where removing the cross member (or guard) comes into. It gives you room to turn the lines around to pull them out. I didn't cut or bend them so I could comparison the new lines and to see how to feed them back in. The hardest part was trying to remove and install the spring clips on top of the transmission. I had the truck on ramps with cardboard on the concrete plenty of room. I would order the spring clips they are easy to loose. A trick to use is to put the clips in before you insert the new line. The line ends will snap in when you push down. then you know your secure. Good luck you just need patients.

I bought this line as one of three for my 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 Extended Cab with a 5.3 and an engine code of “B”, which is determined by the eighth character of your VIN. My truck has the 4L60-E Transmission. One of my lines was leaking where the rubber section met the metal tube. I saw a few You Tubers sawing the old lines apart and making a repair. Living the in the Northeast, I looked at my three rusty lines and decided to replace all three. All three fit perfectly. The only curious thing was that two were packed in boxes but the third had a shipping label wrapped around it and was shipped just like that, no box, not shrink bag, nothing. My mail lady knocked on my door and handed me the line :-) It was not damaged and it fit great. No harm no foul...

Matched perfectly to my original lower line on my 07 1500 classic 5.3 with 4l60 Transtight squeeze but was able to get it done in about 2 hours. didnt have to remove anything major other than the splash guards underneath.glad this was as easy as it was i hated the idea of just cutting out, flaring and repairing the line.

I tried an aftermarket version of this line, which would work just fine if you intend to replace the entire thing. That looked mildly impossible at first glance due to all the bends in the tube, etc so my plan was to cut tube and just use the front section and connect it with a 3/8 compression union. The aftermarket line had slightly bigger tubing and would not work with a 3/8 compression union so I bought this tube and had no problems executing my repair as it matched perfectly in tubing size, etc. 2004 Tahoe 4WD
