Update 9/6 - picked up an OEM coil - resistance is 10ohms (k). Your lawnmower will run good for a while with the aftermarket & a new plug, but it’ll make a carbon mess after a while. Be good to it & it’ll be good to you. Dropping to one star. Would give it zero if I could.9/2 - I have a kohler xt675. Tests for ignition coil include spark & resistance. I checked resistance 1st. Kohler manual specifies 5-15ohms (k). I had replaced the coil 2yrs ago with an aftermarket. As the misfiring was getting worse, I tested it & got 4.1ohms at 200k. Figured that could be the issue. Ordered this one & got the same. I messaged the seller who stated 4.1 was correct. Trying to contact kohler is a challenge because all they want to do is refer you, (via automated) to a local fixer. Guess that’s my next step.No doubt the mower will start with this coil installed. Throw in a new plug, as most would do at this point, & it should be an improvement. How long it will last & at what cost to the ignition system I dunno. I’m not sayin the coil resistance was/is all to blame. I am pretty good though at keeping on the maintenance.Bottom line is the manual specs & this coil, even though it’s specified for the xt675, don’t jive.I’m giving it 2 stars for now. If I find out differently when I manage to get a hold of someone in the know, I’ll update both the info & potentially the rating.

My stepson has been working on a husqvarna lawnmower that would start but then stop after a couple revolutions. He went through the carburetor thinking that was the problem but no that wasn't the problem. Then he took the motor completely apart thinking he'd find something wrong internally but no the motor looked like brand new inside. I asked him if he had checked the ignition for spark he said he had but not after he tried to start the mower. We pulled the motor over and it fired up but quit like always and then he checked for spark and nothing. I ordered a new ignition module from Amazon and it was on my door step the next day. He installed the module and the motor runs like new. For seventeen dollars and some cents we wished we had tried a ignition module first instead of buying a carb kit and gasket set because he had taken the motor completely apart. My stepson is new at working on lawnmowers so we chalked it up as a learning experience for him.

Only problem I had was the connector to the kill line was a little too big. I shaved it down to get it to fit. Lawn mower started up and was running fine.
