The works fairly well to make pasta if you have a lot of patience. It's very slow to push out the dough especially if you try and use the recipe they tell you on the box. It's a pain in the tush to clean- especially the shaped pieces. The dough wants to clog the holes and required much soaking and poking to get it clean. One it gets going it does form the pasta correctly- very slowly but correctly. I think this is definitely one of those products that will take a lot of practice and recipe trial and error to do it properly. I recommend taking it apart and assembling it a couple of times before use as all the parts are very tight to get it.

I have a KitchenAid mixer and I am always up for trying new gadgets so I ordered this pasta maker attachment to make some pastas that I can do with my pasta roller machine. First, this attachment needs better directions. I was able to figure out how everything went together, except how to change out the piece that determines what type of pasta you are going to extrude. I found a video on another site and was able to figure that out. I tested the fusilli extruder for my first pasta. Something they don't tell you in the directions is to shape your pasta into small balls and sprinkle with flour. I found that on a Youtube video. I thought my pasta dough was not sticky and when I placed it in the attachment, it extruded into one sticky piece. So next try, I added more flour to the balls of dough and it seemed to help. I tried using a knife to cut this pasta as it came out of the extruder but it just made the pieces stick together. Next try I used my kitchen scissors to cut pieces and that seemed to work. My pieces are irregular but, that didn't affect the taste of the pasta. I boiled the pieces then fried up some bacon and crumbled it back into the bacon grease. I added some butter and tossed the cooked pasta into the bacon/butter mixture and added some grated parmesan cheese. YUM!!! Nothing like homemade pasta. When it was time to clean up the mess, I took apart what piece of the attachment would come apart and soaked it all in hot, soapy water. I would say that you DON'T want to let this thing sit overnight without soaking in water, as you will never get it apart. I wish there was an easier way to pull it apart when it has dough in it but, it is what it is. It cleaned up well though with me using the high pressure spray from my kitchen sink. Next time I make pasta, I will make sure the dough is not sticky and that I use a liberal amount of flour as I go. Fun attachment and the resulting product of homemade pasta was worth the effort for me. And my man LOVED the pasta!

This six in one pasta maker will work really well with my KitchenAid stand mixer. I’ve been really wanting one of these and I’m glad I was able to find this one because it has the different discs to have different types of pasta. The pieces are all made well and it did a good job. The pieces are easy to clean, and the directions were very easy to follow.

Make sure ur pasta is not too doughy or the Mac noodles will clump together. Good all around product. You lose some pasta dough during processing it sticks to the turbine. It’s fun to use but most importantly the fresh pasta is good.
