glue binding is very cheap; pages stuck together and are insecurely attached to the sticky binding. first and last page are glued to front/back cover, so there are really only 18 usable pages.

I wish these came with back shields to use between papers when using water colors. Otherwise the quality of the paper is good.

Produces beautiful results. I need a lot more play with this to fully discover. It needs lots of water while you are painting. That seems to be key for the color and granulation effects. Right now I want to get back to it and play!

This is the second small journal I buy from this brand. I reviewed a slightly different journal in the past. This version has some of the design deficiencies I criticised in the other version sorted out.The most important thing is that this journal has a wonderful thick smooth watercolour paper that is great for both watercolour and mixed media. I always gesso my pages with either white or transparent gesso, which protects the paper, gives it some tooth and allows me to apply wet media or scratch the paper a bit without any worry.The satin pink cover is really pretty and girly; not the best quality but befitting the price. I'm happy that this journal does not have the awkward inner pocket the other model has because the journal opens/closes more naturally. The journal comes with the promised elastic band, which is necessary to keep all the sheets together once they've all been torn apart.The main downside is that the dotted tearing indentation is not consistent throughout the journal pages, and some of them are badly punctured. That being the case, the tearing is not always clean and polished.For the rest, a great mini journal for experimenting, doing small paintings or just as a travel sketchbook. The separated pages make great postcards too.

I bought this so I can start practicing watercolor again and I’m loving it so far. I do back to back and there’s no “bleeding”. The only complain that I have is that the first and last page are glued to the cover - you can peel it but some of the cover (black) are glued to the first and last page. I don’t tally mind it since they’re just tiny pieces

I usually use Arches watercolor paper and nothing has ever compared. With that said, I bought this lil watercolor journal only bc I liked the design on the cover itself. It's a cute lil book. I must say I like how the watercolors show up on the paper and the effects it produces. And this is 50% cotton. I plan on purchasing 100% cotton Rubens paper and see how I like that.It'd be cool if Arches would sell watercolor journals n lil books like this.

Convent for travel, it’s the perfect size and there is a band to help keep the pages from crumbling.I use it for watercolor, I’m sure my sharpie drawings will work tooNo page leaks! And a great price

Nice perforated paper. I'm using this as a learner's mini paint journal and really like it. Good quality paper without breaking the bank.
