I keep this on hand for stabilizing hems or bias edges in all kinds of knits. It's also handy (although extravagant) to fuse the curling edges of jersey or slinky yardage so you can lay out and cut pattern pieces without tears.

I’m a prolific apparel sewist and I usually buy the small packages of this at fabric store but they’ve been out of it. I found this on Amazon, much more cost effective and it is the very same product as in the small packages at the store. In fact the bag contains the product label identifying it as the identical product and it works great for me. I’ll buy it here from now on

I never write Amazon reviews until now, but thought I should warn people this tape is a complete dud. I don't know if it's actually Pellon or a fake, but it's basically a long strip of plastic wrap! Followed online instructions to a tee and it does not work; just melts under a damp press-cloth or a dry press-cloth both on wool setting. Don't buy.

Great stuff. Gems are flat and neat. It does reduce the stretch a little bit. Not noticeable on hems. I did notice it on sleeve hems a bit.

If there's a cut or rip in a t-shirt, a piece of this can be cut out and ironed to the shirt on the inside, holding the edges together. Can't be felt or seen, doesn't change flexibility, and gives your favorite shirt a bit longer life! The sooner the hole is patched, the better the results.Patching the neck band to panels of shirt is a breeze - iron shirt first to push edges together as close as possible without creases, put a strip of this stabilizer on the inside, and iron again for 5-10 seconds, it's all fixed! If too much is missing, salvage a bit from an inside seam to fill. The repair withstands use, washing/drying, and stretches as much as any shirt, providing an invisible repair.

Great product for stabilising and hemming

I saw this tape in a tutorial on shortening tee shirts. I have to say the process was easier than anything I've tried before to shorten knits. I didn't even have to measure the new hem. Just laid the tape on the cut-off edge, folded it up and stitched with a twin ballpoint needle. The hems look perfect, and just like the original hems. I would like to find this tape in a 1/2 inch width for a narrower hem, but was very happy with the results as they were. I will never attempt to hem a knit shirt without this tape.

First time I have used this product which was bought on recommendations from here and demonstrations on YouTube. Worked really well to stabilise the sleeve ends and bottom of the jersey knit garment I was making while I worked. Easy to use just iron as stated on the packet. The webbing has some stretch in it so that the garment is not too rigid when finished. I found it so useful I have ordered more. An ideal little addition to your sewing basket.Product arrived earlier than expected. Thanks

I was really glad to get this product for the top I was making. As I opened it the package and started to apply it, I found that the edges were uneven and it looked as though it was made by someone who cut from a large piece of interfacing by hand. It’ll this is not ideal when you want a smooth edge for hemming. I would have thought that it would have been cut by a machine. Nevertheless, I was able to use it, but not sure if I will purchase again.

I love how well this works on medium weight knits. I had a curved hem. I pressed the tape to the edge, snipping the tape on the curves. I surged the edge. I used the cover stitch to attach the hem. I used the width of the tape to size the hem. I eased the curves in easily. This tape helps creat a nice firm hem that does not ripple following the process I used. I've used this successfully on a light weight knit too. It might be too heavy for some light weight knits. Test with a scrap. I really like this tape.

Excellent product just perfect for staying necks on stretch fabrics. Nothing like it on market in UK. Had to wait several weeks to receive item from USA but it was free delivery. I shall certainly be ordering more.

What's great about this tape is the stretch - what's not great is that it is 1" wide and you will invariably need to cut it to be thinner. You'd usually use this tape to support shoulder seams in knit tops. Also using it on knits in the V-neck area is a good idea since when you cut a V-neck part of the neckline will be on the bias and you don't want it to stretch. You can use this tape on loosely woven fabrics to stabilize and stop any fraying. There are many uses but I usually use a bias fusible stay tape made by LJ Designs. I have found that tape in widths as small as 1/4". It is very easy to find 3/8" wide bias fusible tape and it is great for stabilizing off-grain areas of fabric whether you are sewing a garment yourself or you want to improve ready-to-wear. The only thing you might be able to use this without cutting it down to a thinner width is in a hem. Use this stay tape to make hemming knit fabrics so much easier! Also, if you have a ready-to-wear top that is sagging at the neckline or at the shoulders, try fusing the stay tape to the seam line while pinning out some of the excess fabric - there are lots of online tutorials about where and how to use fusible stay tape.
