Bought these to try and have a less plastic-y option for birthday party gifts. The whole set came in not one, but TWO overwrap plastic bags, then each one is individually wrapped in plastic. We humans are really a blight on this earth. The shakers don't have the percussive quality I would've hoped for, but they're not silent. They also don't have the kind of weighting you'd expect if you're familiar with actual musical instrument shakers. That weight makes a big difference when you're actually trying to make music. Oh well.

I purchased these for my daughters easter themed 1/2 birthday for the kids easter goodie bags, and it was a favorite. All the children ages 6 months - 5 years loved them. The look exactly as pictured, i love the variety of patterns, seem to have good quality.
