This is a great comb to have on hand. I just recommend you hold your cat’s head away so they don’t try to bite down on this and chip a tooth as the handle is pretty sturdy. I get a ton of fur off my Norwegian forest cat every time I brush him with this and you can easily get the fur out of the blades. Some cats aren’t going to like it but if you start them in with it gradually they get used to it.

This brush/comb doesn't look like it would get much hair but it really does. I was hoping to have a picture, the cats don't stay still long enough! All it takes is a light, gentle brush, it collects the hair effortlessly. If you go too fast the hair flies out of the comb, if you go slow it collects in the comb and is very easy to gather and toss. They are looking good and I intend for them to stay that way.

Fair cutting brush. Works on both short and long hair cats/dogs. I have a similar brush and works just as well though this one is a bit clunky and large. The best part though is reading how to use this brush... just take a look at the packaging... if they are going to change anything please please please proof read and have someone who actually speaks english write it out!! If not at least I got a good laugh at reading it... =)

It’s not terrible, but not very sharp so it didn’t help much with dematting. It works fine as a regular brush, but don’t expect to cut mats off with it, mine just gets stuck or drags.

I didn't know this type of brush existed. I own a Persian cat. She has the thickest fur imaginable. I can never get through her fur properly with the average wire brush. She always had matted fur. But last week i got this odd brush and omg my life has changed. It goes through her hair and did it's job. I have never seen so much hair come out ,ever. The brush looks scary but my cat loves it. One side is for short hair pets and the other side is for furry beasts. My only quip is i wish the hair stood on the brush. It flies off everywhere and that annoys me.

I tried this out on my cat, who will tolerate being brushed for about three minutes. The prongs on this grooming tool are definitely good for "raking" out mats. I'm not sure it works on a short haired cat as well as a more traditional cat brush. It seems designed to use on a larger animal with thicker/longer hair. However, I will continue to use it, along with my cat brush, to attempt to give her a good brushing. UPDATE: I just realize that the two rows of prongs are different--one row is wider and the other is spaced closer together. The closer spaced row does work well on my cat.

My number 1 concern was that this comb would hurt my cat (Harley). 2nd concern was that the "teeth" would be too far apart to pull out shed hair on the comb side. 3rd was that the "de-matting" side would pull on the mats and hurt him, rather than remove the mats.All of my concerns have been laid to rest. Harley has never let me brush or comb him for more than 1 minute. He HATED it. With this comb, he doesn't mind a bit.. I'm amazed. This is going to save me a ton of money on Grooming/Veterinarian bills. No more poop path shaving!! YAY!!Anyway, IMO, this is an excellent product that every cat owner should have. 5 well earned stars, excellent!
