I love the durable construction, the color, usefulness and comfort provided by this collar. I like the unique feature it has. There's an attachment on the collar where you attach the leash. If the dog tries to back out of the leash it will tighten to a point that helps prevent the dog from sliding out of the collar.

I foster a Lab cross 2 year old male dog, according to the size chart I should have ordered a large collar but ordered a medium based on another reviewer. It fits but we really had to make it smaller. Really nice collar and hope it helps with his pulling while walking, I currently use a pinch collar but wanted to try a martingale. Will update with how it works.

This is a very good collar. We only use Martingale collars for all of our dogs and this is a quality collar. However, it took a return to get a correct size. One of the answers submitted by the seller states that the large collar is 13-20" which would fit our needs. When the large collar came the smallest it would adjust to is 19". We returned it for a medium which is the size we need. We have a 6 month old GSD who is about 55lbs and I doubt he will ever need a large. The medium fit at the smallest size and we've adjusted it out once.

The durable...yes these stand the test of time. I have not had to replace any of dogs collars. One I've had for over 10 years and my current dog has been wearing his now for 3 years and it's still hanging in there. Now my dogs are from medium to small and I keep them pretty clean and watch for any wear and will definitely replace them if necessary. Martingale for the win!

I've used only this collar for my dog for years. The buckle works great and I never feel like it might give out, even when my strong dog is pulling with all of his weight. I've replaced these only because the color fades after a while, or I want a new color. Otherwise, they are durable and could last forever. Caution - do measure your dog and look at the size guidelines. While my dog is a large in most accessories, he is a medium with this collar.

I initially bought the large flr my dog having measured carefully. That arrived and was too big. I then ordered the medium which fits oddly enough but it jas made no difference to pulling. If anything it made it worse. I am returning both nut have to find a ups drop off point and print off multiple documents. Waste of time and money.

These martingales help offer safe control for teaching our 8 month old Pit/Lab pup. His stubbornness and strong will made finding ways to teach him a challenge. He is super strong and is learning to responds well to the way these work as well as voice /clicker commands. We bought a size medium for our 55 lb Milo.

I have purchased two of these and I am very pleased. The martingale style ensures that the dogs can't back out if they're being stubborn on a walk. The buckle is a great feature because it allows you to quickly remove it if they get caught on something or each other. The first one was purchased about 2 months ago and looks brand new without any signs of fraying. These run MUCH larger than most collars/harnesses/clothing. My dogs are German Shepherd and Coonhound mixes and normally wear L-XXL. They wear a Medium in these collars. The Large looked like it would fit a mastiff or saint bernard.

Martingale collars like this, with the quick release, are the ideal solution for dogs that tend to back out of regular collars, like greyhounds, labs, etc. One of my dogs needs a martingale, he can slip a regular collar and also back out of a harness, but he's never had a problem with the martingale. The quick release buckle is essential, as collars can get caught on things especially when dogs are playing together, and without the quick release the dogs can panic and strangle. My dog wears this collar about 8-10 hours a day, I only take it off at night and when he is home alone. It's a great, secure, washable collar for walks and holding ID tags. I like the wide 1'' width, my dog is usually well trained but will sometimes lunge at squirrels and the wider width helps reduce damage to his neck. The only reason I don't give five stars is that the quick release buckle seems a little cheap, but i'm not worried about it. I'm 90% happy and would buy this product again. I am a dog trainer and would recommend this product to my clients who have trouble with their dogs backing out of collars.

My husky decided at the age of 5 months that he did not like harness. and we tried other standard collars before he and he was able to slip thru or break them. Once we bought this from our local petsmart we fell it inlove. It has the perks of a choke collar because he tends to not want to pull. but also gives us a sense of security knowing that he can't escape! so far we have bought 5 of these and decided to go onto amazon to order one because we were tired of getting red (black and red are the only colors our petsmart carries but the black is always sold out because they dont order much of these) and the price is about the same as petsmart's but petsmart only carries 3/4 thickness.
