  • This medium sized evergreen shrub has bright red with bronze foliage in spring transforming to dark green foliage in fall. Its dense, compact growth habit reaches 8-12 feet tall. Best performs as a hedge, mass planting, screen, and accent plant in the landscape or in a container.
  • This adaptable evergreen shrub needs a regular water schedule to ensure the growth of a mature root system. After the mature root system is established, watering is needed occasionally, except during a drought, watering is needed regularly. Shearing is recommended to maintain desired shape.
  • Red tip photinia shrubs generally do well in sunny conditions and have a good tolerance for drought. They will tolerate some shade, but dense shade makes them susceptible to fungal diseases.
  • Continual pruning of the shoot tips will prompt continued production of the attractive reddish leaves. This does preempt flower production but, again, this is a shrub normally grown for its foliage, and the flowers have an odor that is not pleasant.
  • Red tip photinia is a common choice for hedges, especially where it is possible to provide the constant pruning needed to maintain the shape and promote the ongoing formation of new red leaves. It can be a good choice for hedges and privacy screens in areas where deer are a problem, as these animals tend to leave the shrub alone.

Good quality. Excellent shipping. The only complaint I could have is that they are way overpriced as to what you could buy these for at Lowe's or home Depot. Other than that I'm 100% happy

I am very satisfied with these plants, all 10 plants were alive and the soil was moist. I will order from this company again. I transplanted each one in pots to let them adjust to this climate. These plants grow very fast and provide a great wind break and privacy hedge. The ones I planted last year are over 7 feet tall, they are not from this company but cost a lot more.

Ordered a ten pack of photinias. They arrived in good condition. Very small size though. The root bundle was about the size of a shot glass. Had one or two leaves or nodes. I planted them all together in a future hedge row. So far about 8 out of ten seem to be thriving. The other two are iffy at the moment. Larger size would have probably been more hardy but for the price I feel it was a good deal.

I was really excited to get these plants going for our backyard. We planned to plant these along our back fence to add privacy to our backyard. After seeing the expensive prices at our local garden shops, I wanted to see if there was a lower cost option for us. We liked the option to transplant these 10 shrubs from Florida Foliage, but in the end it wasn't what we expected. These plants are shipped for a few days and arrive looking dry and haggard. My wife and I immediately transplanted them into their own pots to grow and gave them a deep drink. Within a few days they started dying off with only 1 out of the 10 surviving. I contacted the seller but they haven't responded to my last 2 messages so they have not been helpful. Overall I wish I did not buy these plants. Between the below expectations product and the lack of communication from the seller, this was an overall bad experience. In the future I will look for local options instead of buying them online.

They arrived promptly and were in good condition, the packing process was very effective at preventing damage (even though the box had been absolutely squashed by the postal service, the plants were completely intact and healthy).10/10, would buy again.
