I needed a set of pots for bringing food to friends’ gatherings, and this set offers a versatile range of sizes. They are very lightweight and nest into each other well for compact storage. The description states they are made of stainless steel, so I initially assumed both the interior and exterior were stainless steel with insulating foam in the middle. However, when they arrived, I discovered that while the interior is stainless steel, the exterior, handles, and lids are made of plastic. As someone who usually avoids plastic for eco-conscious reasons, I was somewhat disappointed. The biggest drawback of this set is the design of the lids. They simply rest on top of the pots and do not lock or screw in securely. This means that if a pot tips over during transport or while being carried, the lid can come off, spilling the contents. I mitigated this issue by stretching rubber bands through the pot handles and over the lid handle to secure them. While this solution isn’t glamorous, it’s functional.Despite these shortcomings, the dishes have received compliments from my friends. In terms of heat retention, they perform well, although not as effectively as double-walled stainless steel thermoses.Overall, while this set is highly portable due to its lightweight design and keeps food warm for a decent amount of time, improvements to the lid design and the use of more sustainable materials would make it even better.

We used these for the first time at Thanksgiving, with mixed results. In one of the containers, we had a salad. That was absolutely no issues. On another one, we had hot mashed potatoes. Then, in the last one, we put the gravy from the turkey that we cooked. These foods stayed in the containers, with the lids tightly closed, for about 45 minutes before being eaten. In that time, the temperature of the food seemed to fall off quite a bit. At the same time, the lids sealed the containers tightly, so the food remained fresh when it was ready to eat.

These are essentially plastic, so I don't love them enough to use them for holiday serving dishes. But they are good for bringing food straight from the oven to a friend's for a pot luck. They won't hold temps for more than a couple hours, but they get us there, and get the food to the table without having to reheat. they do nest inside each other, and the lids can lock on with a partial rotation.

This is the best thing ever. We usually take small insulated dishes and i would separate the food but now I can just place it in one dish and they are nice and big and hold well. I placed rice in one and curry in the other and then some soup in one as well and we had a nice outing and ate outside and it was perfect. Everyuthing stayed warm and good and it was easy for us to serve the food.

These containers come in nice sizes for foods. They are meant to keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold. While they do provide some thermal insulation, they don’t really retain heat or cold as well as I would like.

As a professional in food service, my review might be more critical than others. These containers come in handy sizes and nest for easy storage. The lids lock on well if you firmly rotate them in place. They look nice too. The instructions on the box correctly state that for best results, you should immediately put the food in the container directly from the oven or stovetop for hot food and directly from the fridge for cold food. But no specific temperature ranges were given. Logically, the hotter or colder the food is when it's put in the container, the longer the food will stay hot or cold. As an example, I had been simmering a tomato sauce on the stovetop all day. When I put it in the container, the temp was 152 F. I put the lid on and took the temperature 2 hours later and it had dropped to 128 F. One hour later, the temp had dropped to 117. In food safety terms, temps between 40 and 140F are known as the "danger zone". These are the temps in which bacteria, if present, thrive and grow. The more time the food is at these temps, the odds of bacteria growth multiply. So my sauce was essentially in the danger zone for a few hours. Knowing this, it is important to know that these containers don't hold heat or cold for very long. They would be great for putting food inside and going to a potluck in which the food would be consumed within 2-4 hours. I would not use these for any longer term storage than that, and would make sure anything hot was heated near or at the boiling point (212F) to keep food from entering the danger zone. Previously refrigerated or frozen food in these containers isn't as much of a concern, but again, the colder going in, the colder coming out. One final observation is that supposedly there is a layer of polyurethane foam in between the inner lining and the outside. I'm not so sure about that honestly. The containers are SO light, it just feels like air like a normal thermos. Given the somewhat rapid temperature drop I experienced supports that theory. But I can't be sure. I would recommend these with the caveat that people be aware of food safety temperatures.

Just wish instead of the small one, it came with an even bigger one than the largest one included here! These are absolutely perfect for potluck dishes, to keep them warm and spill proof. Excited to use these for Thanksgiving and the next time I am invited to a pot luck. The food stays warm for a long time (tip learned from food service job: fill containers with VERY hot water for 5 minutes, dump out water, then fill with the steaming hot food to keep it hot longer. Never fill if the insulated dishes are cold...your food will not stay hot for long. Always warm the containers first for maximum longevity.) Seriously wonder where these have been all my life! Note: They are plastic, not stainless steel.
