I love how durable they are. We use them as inserts for our canoe barrel to keep things cold while camping. They insulate well and fit perfectly inside the barrels.

I wanted to take a key lime pie to a friend I was visiting and had to keep it chilled overnight. I just put an ice pack in it and voila, it was perdfectly chilled until I reached my destination. Great product.

I will have to be extremely cautious in handling this carrier with even one pie in it, since I do not use cheap, throw-away aluminum foil pie pans, but Pyrex dishes which, by their nature are strong and heavy because I choose to reuse, rather than clutter landfill sites. The weight of the pies, their fillngs, and the containers will put stress on the shabby zippers. I anticipate possibly two Thankgiving dinners worth of usage. If the time between now and Thanksiving was longer, I would reorder a sturdier carrier.

granted this an item for transporting pies or other foods... In our case. It's being purchased to provide food, but for our show dogs. we can load the bottom portion with their dry food, and the top section will hold the measuring device and the dog food bowls. Convenient to carry all items needed, and in zippered compartments, all for the dogs benefit. Especially when we are driving 3 or 4 days to shows out of state.

I kept this but will not hold heavy homemade cream pies…. Maybe store bought pies

I read in an article that airlines allow home made goodies on planes. We are traveling to Fla for Christmas and I prefer to make desserts in my own kitchen but I’m always asked to make them when I get there. I have a carrier for 2 pies but something to carry both. There were certain dimensions needed to hold a plastic cake carrier inside a travel cake carrier. Most plastic ones are too tall. I searched Amazon looking at lots and I found one. It was shorter and fit perfectly. Since my desserts will be frozen when we leave, the travel carrier is also insulated so they’ll stay cold. Great item and I recommend for any type of travel.

The 2 sections are not equal in size. the top section needs a smaller pie not to have it hit the top. Also if the top pie is heavy, it will squish down on the entire carrier. Overall pretty good but not great.
