20 years ago, the crew re-siding my house broke the handle on my spade. I never threw it away just in case I ever found a way to fix it. Finally. The 1-1/4" ID fits the handle perfectly. The original handle used a thru-rivet, so I'll replace it with a thru-bolt and grind the nut-end smooth.

Dsjnf - Plastic, D-Grip Handle for Shovel or Pitch Fork, 32mm Inside Diameter for Wood Shaft - Simple but does the job. The plastic handle on my old pitch fork finally gave out and this replacement was perfect. I guess the round wood shaft part of my fork was a common diameter of around 30-31mm, because this replacement fit perfect. There's a molded recess for a screw (not included) to secure the handle to the shaft. It's an easy task to drill a hole in the handle to fit - you just have to find your own screw. But for the price, this handle is a winner.
