It’s usually pretty hard trying to find my filter for my old hot tub. I was actually able to find it on here at a better price than the bigger pool retail stores! Would recommend.

So I bought this one 5 times, and the cheaper Guardian that comes in a pair once. This one saved my ass. The other product made our tub cloudy not filtering particles despite rinsing it off daily(!) which shouldn't be needed anyways and despite a good fit (diameters and such). After some headaches with the Guardian ones and even changing water, cloudiness came back in no time, so I went back to this Pleatco filter, and guess what? IT CLEARED UP PARTICLES OVERNIGHT, cristal clear water 20 hours later. With both cartridges we had balanced pH, TA, TH, FC, CC the same. I'll pay the extra $$ again and get the one that works. Thanks Pleatco! I would be interested in knowing why other filter fabrics don't work. What is it about the paper, anyone knows?

We liked this well enough to order a second one. It filters well and cleans easier than our old ones, but I am having a problem with low ph that hasn't been a problem before. Hopefully this is just a coincidence and doesn't have any connection to the filter.

This is the Pleatco PRB25 filter (aka "New Version"). Please be aware that the 25 in the model number stands for 25 square feet of filter material. Pleatco also makes similar filters with the same length and diameter, but they have 50 square feet of filter material (and have "50" in the model number).I wasn't sure whether to purchase the 25 or the 50 but opted for the 25 because I didn't feel the need for the 25 additional square feet of filter material (and the filter media fabric is the same either way, about 3oz/yard). I've used 50 sq ft models in the past and found that the filter was more difficult to clean because there was so much filter fabric that the pleats were very tight together (as shown in the photo). What most often gets cleaned by my hot tub filter are pieces of grass, hair, dirt, and bird seed shells. Either the 25 or the 50 would catch this material. Perhaps it helps my tub's pump that there is less back pressure from the 25 filter, but it may not make much difference either way.Pleatco makes a good filter and there are many companies who charge more for this same filter. The 25 ("New Version") is sometimes slightly less costly than the 50. After a while the filters start to get a bit grungy so I replace them about annually. If this filter's length and diameter fits your tub/spa/pool, then either the 25 or the 50 should work well for you.
