AM Band is worthless. It is full of tones & noises. It only receives the three very local 5kw stations but not the 50kw clear channel stations just 25 miles away. The FM Band is more sensitive but tuning is very touchy with no AFC to lock onto stations.

I took a chance on this radio because of the interesting design. I’m also a fan of small AAA battery-powered radios. Unfortunately, this was a dud: FM performance was just OK on local stations, speaker sound is tinny and AM performance is crummy. If you are looking for a tiny AAA battery driven radio, spend the extra money on a Prunus J-777, a remarkably robust winner.

This ONGTEED Pocket AM/FM Radio is a total dud. I got it hoping my six-year-old kid could use it as a bedside radio, at night, but even he wasn't impressed. It feels super cheap and flimsy overall, and the reception isn't great either. Here's a 1-Star review based on my experience:Poor Quality: The overall quality of this radio is shamelessly cheap—I wouldn't trust this for emergency use.Underwhelming Performance: Again, cheap, and its performance reflects that: both sound quality and functionality are poor.Unreliable: The radio is shoddy and unsuitable for even backup purposes. I'll keep it tucked away somewhere as a third-string radio but, I won't expect it to work when I'll [inevitably] need it most.Overall:This radio is a low-quality product and a waste of money. It wouldn't be a reliable backup radio, and the performance is underwhelming. While I might keep it as a last resort, it's not something I can recommend.

Great find for the price, our grandma needed a new fm portable radio and this was perfect. Works great!

I could not turn it up as loud as it goes, too much for my ears. Mind you, I don't blast tvs or anything, but still, for a small radio shorter than a standard #2 pencil, this puts out sound! The stations it can receive come in loud and clear. I didn't expect to get such a level of sound out of this small radio, however, it isn't like phenomenal stereo, as far as quality you are not going to be wowed that way, but volume it's got. This is a nice little FM/AM radio with great price. To boot, it also comes with ear buds as well. Took my Dollar Store aaa batteries and performed like a champ.

Pros: This radio is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket so it's convenient to use. The RF sensitivity is impressive for a radio that can be had for less than 9 dollars. I was listening to stations that are roughly 100 miles away with the antenna extended! The audio is pretty good. I noticed no distortion on the FM signal. On AM I could hear distant stations but there is no AM station is my tiny town so I can't honestly comment of the AM performance. I noticed no drift after 30 minutes of operation. It stayed right on frequency.Cons: The radio is clearly monophonic. Even with the earphones there was no channel separation albeit with fairly good audio. The supplied earphones are low quality in build and audio performance. If you can use a good set of earphones with this radio.General comments: Considering the low price the build quality is good, and the audio could be very good if it had a stereo receiver. I seriously doubt that you could do much better for the price. I recommend this rig for use by a child or on the beach etc.

There's not a whole lot I can say, besides giving 5 stars... This feels like the perfect little, pocket-sized radio receiver for use on-the-go, while jogging/working out, when relaxing, on the job, or just about anywhere you could perceive needing a small radio receiver and headphones for private listening. The sound & volume is perfect for its size and after a week of steady, nearly nonstop listening, there has been hardly any drain on the batteries at all. Even the included headphones are decent for what they are...I've been using them and while they're not a "top-dollar" item, the headphones seem to be just fine for regular use.
