Wasn’t sure what to expect, but wow! This thing works great. I bought this to put together some floating canvas frames, and it worked like a charm.

My wife and I have been wanting one of these picture frame staplers for quite a while now. We both make picture frames: me for my photography and especially my wife for her many paintings. To date we’ve just been using a regular staple gun. (And, to be honest, the frames have been a little less than satisfactory.) But with this new frame stapler, we can make them much more like professionally made frames. The frame stapler (or, point driver or point gun) is made quite robustly. It’s made of premium steel and I doubt very seriously that it would break if dropped to the floor. It’s that solid and tough. Mechanically speaking, it works just as it should—efficiently and repeatedly. At first sight I was going to say it needed a safety switch that would prevent the handle from being depressed when not in use. But after seeing how it operates, no safety switch is necessary. You see, unlike a regular staple gun that essentially shoots out a staple with some speed behind it, the frame stapler ejects a “point” rather slowly and safely (but strongly enough to penetrate soft wood). The point “projectile” comes out of the front of the frame stapler, whereas a staple is shot out of the bottom of a regular staple gun. The points are the tiny, relatively thin, and pointed pieces of metal that securely hold in place your artwork, glass or backing in the frame. The points are essentially the last step in completing a framed photo, artwork, or whatever. This frame stapler’s handle is indeed easy to squeeze and to eject a point into the inner side of the frame. Just make sure to hold the front of the frame stapler up against the wood while pulling the handle. Otherwise, the point may not imbed properly. Please be aware that this tool does not come with instructions. And that is an inconvenience, b/c it wasn’t completely obvious where and how to load the points. Just know that that the points go in the front, bottom compartment—after you have released the “slot cover” on top. (BE SURE to keep the cardboard sheet that’s part of the packaging b/c it has a useful parts diagram!) I have deducted one star simply b/c of the lack of helpful instructions. If there had been instructions, this review could have been considerably shorter! lol
