Use to replace your existing Pop & Lock lock cylinder. Instructions are sparse and hard to follow. Decent value and simple enough to “program” but look elsewhere for help.

I had good reviews for this but after a year on the truck , I can lock it with the key but if I pull on the latch a few times the lock unlocks. So any one can walk over and pull the latch several times and will be able to open my tail gate, and I do have a tonal cover on it.**Now it only locks sometimes. When it does lock, it still unlocks if you pull on the latch a couple times. Bummed I am unable to secure anything in my truck bed.

Second one I’m installing. First one last 2yrs so I can’t complain for the price. This time I used thread lock on the bolts because the last one can’t lose over time and I believe that’s why the plastic broke.

Ordered this after I bought a new Tacoma and wanted to switch over my Pop & Lock. One thing I really dislike is the old lock is not rekeyable because of the way the unit is sealed. If you compare images of locks you will see this might have been done intentionally. If they hadn't sealed it I could have had it rekeyed easily and much cheaper then having to buy a new codeable lock. All in all I am now able to relock my tailgate.
