I owned the Porlex II until some jerk stole my mobile coffee kit. This one is a step up on the internals, and looks almost identical from the outside based on my memory. The grinding action seems smoother and faster than my old one, but alas it’s just a memory and not a direct comparison.The packaging is superb, and always cool to get something from Japan. It came with a thank you note and a letter of good will with a five yen coin on it.
