I really wanted to like this printer. The idea of having a lightweight, inkless printer for my business trips sounded perfect. I do a lot of freelance work on the road meeting clients in coffee shops, working in co-working spaces, sometimes even from my car. So when I saw this advertised as a "portable travel printer with a carrying case," I was sold. But wow, what a letdown. First off, the Bluetooth connection is an absolute nightmare. I tried pairing it with both my iPhone and my Samsung tablet neither worked consistently. Sometimes it would connect, then drop within seconds. When I finally managed to print something (after downloading their sketchy-looking app and restarting my phone twice), the quality was mediocre at best. Faded, streaky, and nowhere near the “high-quality 300 DPI” they claim. Second issue paper jams. This thing jammed on my second print. And I’m not talking about complicated formatting just a simple one-page invoice. I opened the device and spent 15 minutes digging out the crumpled thermal paper. Not exactly “efficient on-the-go” when you’re sweating in your car before a meeting. Third “inkless” isn’t the cost-saver it sounds like. You have to use their specific thermal paper. Regular paper doesn't work (which is only mentioned way down in the fine print). And that specialty paper? Super overpriced and hard to find locally. One roll came pre-loaded and the other rolls are all different sizes so I’m not sure what the logic was there. I just needed to print normal 8.5"x11" pages, not receipts or mini labels. And don’t get me started on the carrying case it’s flimsy and barely holds the printer securely. Mine arrived with a dent in the corner like it had been tossed around during shipping .I ended up borrowing a friend’s regular inkjet printer at a FedEx Office just to meet a deadline. So much for "portable convenience."

Why I Chose This PrinterI’m on a bit of a thermal printer kick right now. I love the convenience of not having to deal with ink, and since much of what I print is black and white, thermal printers are an excellent fit—especially for business travel. I’ve been wanting something more universal that prints in a few different sizes, most importantly letter size, and this printer checks all the boxes.Value & Included AccessoriesThe value is great, as it comes with different-sized starter rolls as well as a high-quality carrying case that holds multiple rolls of paper—fantastic for portability. Everything fits neatly inside the case, with the printer snug yet easy to remove.Build & Print QualityThe hardware quality is impressive. It feels solid and is actually a bit heavier than I expected, mostly due to the battery weight. Opening and closing the printer to swap out rolls is straightforward, making the process hassle-free.The print quality is great as well—300dpi, exactly the resolution I wanted. Another pleasant surprise is the printer’s full compatibility with Phomemo paper and software, which is what you install. This means it should have good long-term support, and replacement supplies should be easy to find since Phomemo products are readily available.Portability & Daily UseI will absolutely be using this printer for the foreseeable future. It’s actually the only full-page-sized printer I own, as it takes up no valuable space—I simply store it in my laptop backpack alongside a thermal label printer. One thing to note: since the paper is rolled, expect it to curl when printing. This is just part of the form factor, the trade-off for convenience. However, there is a great alternative—accordion-folded paper that feeds through the back of the printer. This provides a more traditional paper experience without the rolling effect.Final ThoughtsThis printer gives many flexible options to suit different needs, and it’s an excellent choice for compact, ink-free printing. I’m very pleased with my purchase and excited to keep using it.

I just got this printer for school because I was tired of hand copying reference slides since they are on Panopto video and can’t be converted to PDF. The snips will print incorrectly on paper and the text will be illegible. A lot of the remote classes are open note but need you to have reference tables ready (Periodic tables, Z score tables, and bacterial morphologies) for the open note tests. Now I can take a picture, edit the slide and open the Phomemo app, connect and print. My 12 y.o. figured it out in 5 minutes. The printer is 10.5” • 2” • 3”, it weighs 1.5 lbs, comes with a Type C charging wire/USB-C adapter/carrying case and 4 rolls of starter paper in these widths: 2 1/16”, 3 1/8”, 4 3/16” & 8 1/2”. The smaller paper is handy for printing smaller diagrams for my notes. It’s cheaper than one of my college textbooks. If I can get passing grades and not waste time retaking a class or take a higher class to cover a bad grade- it would be money well spent!I am going to get a printer for my friend who owns a party rental business and sends documents by e-sign. 15% of his time is spent calling clients and chasing down signatures for his contracts because people forget to check their email or aren’t ready to sign on the spot. For the 50% clients who are ready to sign- he can print the contract, obtain the wet signature.
