I was intrigued to try this item out in lieu of using the very useless air/fan filter that is built into our microwave above the range. Can I reiterate just how bad those fans are lol? The kitchen in our condo is smallish so cooking anything on the glass cooktop, air fryer or grill/griddle usually results in smoke and smells quickly permeating the entire unit. This item claims to filter all of that right at the point of cooking. I simply could not see any difference. If you held the unit directly over the item being cooked you could see a difference in smoke being directed but nothing that resembles or fulfills the promise of this item as listed in the description. The other issue is that a glass cooktop gets hot so you really cannot place it right next to any pan that is being used. You have to set the fan on one side or the other of the cooktop which defeats the purpose. Lastly, the cosmetics just don't look very good sitting in your kitchen. This is a super expensive item that overall does not fulfill its advertised purpose. The listing is heavily photo shopped so I think this is a huge YMMV on actual use case. Perhaps one could use it in conjunction with a soldering station or welding to direct offgasses but that's about all the value I can see. 2/5 stars for these reasons.

I picked up this filtering compact range hood because every time I seared steaks or chops in my kitchen, I’d inevitably set off the smoke detectors no matter how high the fan or how wide the windows were open. This little unit has made a big difference. It’s compact enough to sit right on the counter near my cooktop, and the three-speed suction gives enough power to noticeably reduce the smoke. The double filter system has eliminated cooking smoke as well as odors. It’s also great for RVs which dont usually have kitchen exhaust fans.Bottom Line: If you’re tired of constantly triggering your smoke alarm while cooking at high heat, this portable range hood is a way to fix most of these problems. It’s not a full replacement for a built-in system that vents outdoors, but it definitely helps stop the smoke for normal cooking smoke.

This thing is awesome! We're in the middle of renovating our kitchen and I don’t have an exhaust fan above the stove yet. But I love bacon. This little exhaust fan is small but mighty; it works just as well as a traditional microwave with exhaust over the stove fan would work - but with less noise. My entire house didn’t smell like bacon like it normally does! I haven’t taken it camping yet to use in the RV but I already know it’s going to be the perfect product!

I have a small, 100-year old house. While I have a vent over my stove, whenever I cook something tasty, it seems like everything in my entire house takes on the smell of the food. My coats and jackets hanging up in the hallway, the linens in my living room... even clean laundry in baskets waiting to be put away upstairs hangs on to a faint smell of sauteed onions or roasted meat, or whatever other meal I cooked. I love to cook but I really hate how it stinks up the house. I have tried opening extra windows, blowing fans, an air purifier... and when I saw this portable vent, I knew I had to try it. Does it solve the problem completely? No. But it definitely helps. My only complaint is that since my kitchen is tiny and counter-space is limited, finding a good spot to put this machine near to the stove is sometimes difficult. But I am very happy to have the extra filtration and air circulation this item provides. It works as described and expected. Thanks.
