The person I got it for makes butter, which always splashes everywhere with the splash guard that came with the mixer. This one was loved very much. They told me lot less splashing.

My wife bakes a lot and we have a couple of kitchen aid mixers, with one being the larger 6 quart professional style mixer.She loves this splash guard as it has drastically reduced the amount of cleanup after using the big mixer, both the mixer and countertop are much cleaner with the splash guard installed on the bowl.The splash guard is easy to put on and take off due to the hinged design, which makes swapping mixer attachments a breeze. The splash guard is also very easy to clean. My wife loves the little ingredient port as it lets her flip the residual flour back into the bowl.It’s a decent splash guard for 6 quart bowls.

What a nifty addition to the Kitchen Aid! Each time I had splatters all over, or flying dry ingredients - because they get dispersed all over the place even when added slowly to a moving mix - I wish I had one of these. I initially hesitated about getting this shield since it's not Kitchen Aid, but the fit was perfect. It comes in two sections that snap together and the chute opens and closes, so not only does it work for pouring, but also for protection while the mixer is not in use. It is great for dry ingredients. You will need to be a bit careful with wet ingredients; since they are a bit heavier, the chute lid may flip closed and you could end up with a mess. But add everything slowly, even when operating, and there should be no issues. It cleaned easily with water and soap; the package said it is dishwasher safe, but I have cleaned it by hand since it really didn't get very dirty. I think that the price is reasonable and worth having it in order to save you cleaning headaches and need to re-measure ingredients.

We bought it for our Kitchen Aid stand lift mixer 5.5qts so when we do things like butter, mix liquids, the liquids don’t splash everywhere and the splashguard work flawlessly! Great investment!! Get one if you own a kitchen aid mixer!!!!

How did I get along without this gadget?! It keeps my kitchen & ME clean and makes it so handy to add ingredients along. Easy to put on (although I missed the cleverness of the hinge on my first try - LOL!) after the paddle and bowl are on. A great tool for my standing mixer - use it every time!
