Bought this part for Honda CRV-2007 and was somehow able to force into the door latch cavity. My door is jammed and cannot open it.

Purchased this for my 2008 honda CRV and it was a bit of a pain to remove the screws that hold this assembly in place. Door seemed to close a little different or it sounded different then the original which wasn't too bad. I installed this back in Nov 2019 and the unit started to make the same grinding/clicking noise just recently 5 years later. For how cheap it was you can't beat that.

Original door lock actuator was buzzing loudly, and eventually was hit and miss to actually unlock the right rear door. Also, seemed to interfere with unlocking the rear hatch, requiring locking/unlocking multiple times to unlock the hatch. Actuator now replaced (several YouTube videos available to in show you how). Lock now works, it's quiet and the rear hatch lock working fine again. Only 4 stars because the replacement part latch is not as smooth to open and close the door as the OEM latch but a light application of white lithium grease has helped. Good deal when you consider the OEM replacement part is 3x-4x times the cost.

The rearmost door hatch on our 2009 Honda CR-V wouldn’t open, however, it appears that if any door latch fails, the rear hatch won’t open. It turns out the passenger rear door actuator was the one actually failing. After replacing it (a several hour job for me) everything works again. You will need to reuse some parts from the old actuator, so don’t throw it away until the job has been completed. The replacement actuator seems to be of decent quality.

Worth the money to do it yourself and not be gauged by Honda prices. With the money saved make sure to buy an impact screwdriver for $15. I got a Craftsman to replace my missing one and was very smart investment. If you want best video on the tube on how to un/install, look up Homie Hektor. Also look for my comments as there are a couple little notes that help.

The only difficult step was getting the original one out. The door was locked, so seats and door panel had to be removed and all work done from inside a locked door. The original unit had to be de-constructed until the inner workings of the assembly could be moved to unlock the door. A bonus was that once the right passenger door lock was replaced, the rear lift gate lock became operational. So if you have both assemblies not functioning, start with replacing the door lock.

I am not a mechanic, however I was able to change out the part with a YouTube video and a couple tools. The part arrived quickly and it was a perfect part for my problem.
