I've been using this thing for a long time now, and I haven't noticed any problems at all with it for off-and-on use and a mild amount of neglect (mostly being left on the floor). No issues with stick drift, nor any issues with buttons being too loose or too tight. I haven't been able to find any use/get any value out of the paddle buttons beyond one game, but frankly, I have never really needed them in the first place, so I won't take a star off for that. The d-pad can be a little tough on the thumb for fighting games like Strive, so I might consider another option with the fully circular d-pad if you're going to be making heavy use of it in a fighting game, but otherwise, it's a great controller that's done a good job for over two years now.

Been using it for 72 hours.1. It’s everything I wanted as I’ve mapped the two paddles to jump and crouch.2. I thought it would free up the other buttons but it doesn't it just allows you to synch the back paddles to any other button (so you can press either or when playing). Didn’t matter to me.3. Build quality is ok. It’s not as good as the Xbox standard controller. Feels cheaper/lighter all round which is to be expected for the price but hasn’t seemed to effected the performance in game.4. Personally haven’t had any sound/mic issues and been playing Fortnite with friends.Biggest question is will it last. If I get 6 months out of it I’ll be happy. Stick drift happens on all controllers so for $30 I can just get another.6 Month update - Developed stick drift. Opened up controller sprayed with compressed air & contact cleaner. All working.Would I buy again. Probably not as there are better controllers for the money now. It’s still going strong after 6 months and if in have to open it up now and then to clean it out so be it.

Affordable Price (4/5):One of the standout features of this controller is its affordability. It provides a cost-effective option for gamers seeking an extra controller without breaking the bank.Wired Connection (4/5):The wired connection ensures a reliable and lag-free gaming experience, as there are no concerns about battery life or signal interference.Compatibility (4/5):The controller is designed for use with Xbox Series X|S, making it suitable for the latest Xbox consoles. It's also compatible with Windows 10 PCs.Basic Functionality (3/5):While the controller offers the basic functionality you'd expect from an Xbox controller, it lacks some of the advanced features found in official Xbox controllers, such as wireless connectivity and premium build materials.Build Quality Concerns (2/5):The major drawback of this controller is its build quality. Many users report that it feels cheaply constructed, with concerns about durability. The plastic used may not hold up well to extended gaming sessions or accidental drops.Limited Features (3/5):This controller doesn't include features like rumble feedback or a 3.5mm headphone jack, which are commonly found in official Xbox controllers. This limits the overall gaming experience.Design and Comfort (3/5):The controller's design and comfort are acceptable but not exceptional. Some users may find it less ergonomic compared to official Xbox controllers.Noisy Buttons (3/5):The buttons on this controller can be somewhat noisy, which might be distracting during gameplay.

My official Xbox One controller lasted me about 4 years, then developed a bad drift issue. I tried giving the internals a deep clean, but no luck.In the market for a replacement, at first I looked at controllers with Hall Effect sensors, which are supposedly immune to stick drift caused by potentiometer wear. Unfortunately, the most popular models I could find run about $70 and have mixed reviews. A lot of complaints about the feel of the buttons being stiffer than official controllers. It sounded like they were still making periodic revisions, so I didn't want to drop $70 until they get their build quality down.Looking at cheaper alternatives, a few friends recommended this PowerA controller. One of them swore by it, while a few others said they were good controllers but had short lifespans. Amazon reviews seemed to say the same. People like it, but in some cases they don't last very long. That said, the particular one I bought only cost $26 on Amazon, so I figured I would give it a shot, hoping it lasts long enough until a quality Hall Effect controller is available.Fast forward, I got my controller on March 23rd. At the time of this writting, it's now June 18th, so I've had it just slightly under 3 months now.Out of the box, the controller seemed great. Yes, it's wired, but for $26 it has a similar feel to the official Xbox controllers. The controller as a whole feels right in terms of form factor and grip, and the joysticks and buttons have a good tactile feel. It has two extra buttons on the back side that can be easily programmed to act like any of the main buttons, which is pretty nice to have. Compared to the official Xbox One controller, there are exposed screw holes on the back side, but they're cleverly positioned so that I never feel them while properly holding the controller. If the controller lasts more than a year without issues, I'd be pretty happy with it.Unfortunately, the controller has developed two problems with it. First off, the D-pad sometimes double-fires when I press on the right direction. I kind of suspect it was always like this out of the box and I just didn't notice it. Most of the games I was playing don't make heavy use of the D-pad. However it became pretty obvious when I started playing a game that made use of the D-pad for menu navigation. For the games I'm playing it's not a huge problem so long as I'm paying attention, but still a bit annoying. The second problem is that I've noticed the paint finish on the D-pad is ready starting to wear off. I've attached a picture where you can see the discoloration caused by the finish wearing off. So far it doesn't really change how the controller feels, but kind of disappointing to be happening already with less than 3 months of use.For the price, I'm still happy with the purchase thus far. I guess it's true you pay for what you get, and for only $26, as long as it lasts another 9 months before developing any other issues that require a replacement, I'll consider it money well spent.

Deze controller ziet er heel mooi uit. Gewoon inloggen en werken. Vanwege de kabel, zit je nooit zonder controller tijdens een spel op de pc.

Hadn't spotted anyone mentioning the d-pad on these controllers so I thought I'd drop in a quick review.I play a lot of fighting games - normally on PC where I've got a cheap/adequate fighting stick and on PS4 with a Hori Fighting Commander. I've recently picked up a few fighting games on Xbox but have been struggling with my original Xbox One pads due to their rapid wear-and-tear of the d-pads (not registering presses, double-pressing etc). I've also got an Xbox Series S and the pad for that is much better but I'm not a fan of the recessed d-pad. I wanted something to play the occasional fighting game on the Xbox that wasn't going to break the bank.So far - the PowerA has been the answer! I'm really surprised at how accurate this d-pad is: very easy to finish on a diagonal, light to press but without registering any unwanted jumps etc. I've never been much of a KoF player but on KoF 15 I'm pulling off those supers with ease (you know, the nasty quarter circle back, half circle forward). PC compatibility is fine too (Xinput). The d-pad appears to use a rubber membrane (similar to the 360 controllers) rather than those nasty dome-switches on the official Xbox One controllers.Everything else? Great! Sticks feel just like a regular Xbox One controller - movement feels 1-1 with them (not like some third party controllers where the dead zone feels off for example). The triggers do feel a little lighter - like the springs aren't quick as heavy duty - but nothing too offputting. The paddle buttons on the back work well. Just to clarify - these are for mapping a button press - they are not for recording macros. Still pretty useful - for example, you could map L3 to one of them to quickly run in a FPS instead of clicking in the left stick etc.Time will tell what the durability of this controller will be but so far so good. The only minor downside I can see is that the cable is USB-A to micro-USB. USB-C would have been nice (no more trying to plug it in the wrong way!) however I'm not really likely to unplug it from the controller end and the fit is snug. And this is just me being greedy, but it would have been fantastic if they could have had this switchable to work on other consoles!Excellent value for money - would definitely recommend./Andy
